Super useful, ive used it for some 3D projects but now interested in using it in post. One problem im expecting to hit is setting up a masked render. So my scenes objects mask out the smoke where the overlap in the smoke render. This way the smoke behind a character/scene object isn't visible

Thanks for sharing this tutorial, and yes, if you can, do the part 2 of compositing. Also what if you use VDB, could you have more control on customizing that smoke, i think Embergen can export as VDB right?... Greetings. Edit 1: But anyway, i think a better use for VDB is if you're going to watch the smoke from different angles in 3D, but since this is flat in After effects i think you don't need it, maybe if you wanted to use the model inside the smoke, since you can occlude the smoke correctly. Edit 2: Also i just thought that we can add something rally good to this workflow, i did it before using 3d elements, and i didn't tried yet but i'm pretty sure that could work, if you use deepmotion site (Unfortunately the free account only lets you upload 10 second video), so you can have a footage of a real person, upload to that site, and have a 3d model with the movements so then using Embergen you can have the smoke / fire and then do the rest of the composition.

hello, i could need some help , is it possible to use an imported geometry only as an Effector und not as an Emittor. I want to manipulate an fire emittor with an imported Geometry but the Geometry himself should not burn. but rather it should effect the emittor with his geometry, i hope this was clear, my english is ugly sorry, , sadly i cant find an option like that

​@@VisionaryFire i found out by myself, you must give the emitter and the geometry two different Emitter Volume und turn off smoke and flue inside the emitter Volume Node of the geometry ❤❤❤❤ after 8 hours ❤❤❤😂 edit: make sure you drive the thickniss emission and collision higher inside the Import Node
