I came here from a Daniel Johnston doc, but didn''t even realize this song was playing in that doc? I remember the version by Clauding Longet so well and I'm surprised it's not on KZbin?

Soko is singing this song in that Short Movie about Daniel Johnston. But I can not find a full version of Soko's cover version of The Creators of Rain. So, perhaps it's just that small piece of music....

Smokey, Larry Mims and his sister Vicki Mims were my cousins. Larry passed on June 18th in Galveston, Texas. Vicki McMorrow passed away April 2, 2006 in New Jersey. Both from cancer like both their parents. There are two remaining sisters. Sorry we haven't been in very close contact through the years. Miss them all very much along with their mom and dad that past many years ago. You can only remember the past you can't relive it.

Ah yes. The Terry Lee show from WIXZ radio in McKeesport, Pa. This song brings back memories of that time. I was 14 years old in the Summer of 67 and most radios in the area were tuned into Terry's show on those beautiful Summer evenings.

In the beginning, the land was stained Parched by the sun, deserts, and plains Then the creators of the land Created rain I was that barren, wasted land I was too weak to stand Then the creators of rain created you High on a mountain, growing there Land was plenty, trees were rare Then the creators of rain Created air I was that mountain, growing there My life was empty, nothing there Then the creators of air created you There would be no land, no seas To plants, no trees, no life, or me, without you Life had forgot the carrying of Dreams that were lost to fade above Then the creators of rain Created love I was that dream that life had made To search an [?], hope had fade Then the creators love created you Created you (created you) Created you (created you) For me

THIS song,, is quite possibly,, one of the most soulfull ever done.. Not just the Lyrics... THE two Perfect Voices FOR the song... THE two Perfect people to SING it... The EXACT way to DO it... I just keep coming back to this song... Just SO perfect... Unreal...

I always love this song...I was in 7th grade when it was on the radio in Sacramento around Feb '67. It, to me, always seemed like an odd vocal duo every time I heard it. Scratched my head every time it played. Who are these two? Pictures of singers were not readily available back in '67.
