Smokey And The Bandit 2 - The Filming Locations 31 years later

I was a truck driver and lived in nearby Jupiter when they filmed The Bandit 2. I went down for the cattle call but wasn't chosen for a part. I got to check out the trucks and stunt cars though. They had several car haulers full of stripped down stunt/police cars, nothing inside but roll bars and a seat. Burt also had a dinner theater down near the beach. I used to love to take a beach chair and a bottle of rum and sit in the surf during thunderstorms. Lots of good memories in Jupiter. :)

I spent a lot of time sitting on those old concrete bleachers growing up in Martin County. Mr. Troop built that rodeo arena and the airport across the road. Many top rodeo cowboys would fly in to perform at the rodeo. South Florida Parachute was also across the road and Paul (POP) Poppenhager would skydive into the arena for the opening of the rodeos each year. We had a lot of history made at that old arena and drank a lot of Boone's Farm on those bleachers. Good times!

I never knew that the movie was filmed in Jupiter Florida and as a trucker I think I made a delivery there a long time ago. I sure would like to see some more of revisiting film locations of other old movies. Thank you for sharing this video I enjoyed it.

they also did filming between Hobe Sound, and Stuart Fl on US-1, and at a Swifty Gas station on US-1 just north of Tequesta FL, the guy who played the goofy park ranger @ lion country safari was years ago my wood shop teacher, when i was in 7th grade , he introduced me to Burt years later,,

In Jupiter Farms, FL there was a building that housed a police station next to a small store. The land was actually owned by Burt Reynolds. There was a petting zoo as well as all the cars from Smokey and the Bandit. Sadly, I never saw it but I know of it from my grandparents.

Sheesh. I lived 2 miles from Indiantown and never knew! I know people in Florida that have met burt. He doesn't live terribly far from there. Davey Jones was living in Indiantown when he died

The Snowman GMC General truck makes an appearance in the 1980 movie "The Last Song" with Lynda Carter and Ronny Cox. Good scenes with the truck pulling a tanker trailer. A little detail sidenote, if you look closely you can still make out the bent passenger side exhaust stack on the truck which was seen in SATB II. Check it out if you can! :)

One of the biggest things I have always been curious about the movie is the ending where we see Burt actually towing the baby and Mama elephant in their respected trailers, know that with the both of them + the trailers, it has always surprised me ike crazy how the Trans-am was able to actually pull them, that must have been well over a ton o weight, how did they actually do that, they really must have supped up the trans-am engine like you wouldn't believe or how did they actually do that??????

Nice video, but surprised you didn't drive 15-20 minutes east to Jupiter where numerous scenes were filmed including the famous bridge scene where the police car got caught in the drawbridge and fell into the water.
