Am lucky enough to live across from Detroit during the years Motown ruled the airwaves! Most of the acts would come to Windsor to try out their new songs and to perfect their acts. Local clubs and high schools were a favourite target audience. They would also do our local tv dance show on CBC. Was a great time growing up to some great music and entertainers. Motown will live forever!

This song is from 1979 (The end of the disco error) the more vintage motown sound in this song makes the fact that it took 5 years to get it recorded makes sense.

This was from a TV show in the 70's Soul Train was a teen dance show which was popular. Glad I was a kid in the 60's grew up with Motown and lots of teen dancing

By the way, that is not him singing falsetto. That's Smokey's voice. That's why they called him "Smokey". It's that voice. Listen to him in an old live version in a black and white video of a very young Smokey doing "Ooh, Baby, Baby". Also, give the great song "Groovin' " by The Rascals a listen too.
