Carl Banas was the voice over actor for Mr. Gabby; he also did the voice over work for the cartoon character Giles who was the chef in the cartoon Rocket Robin Hood.

A very unsafe way to use a portable ladder, Mr. Gabby is standing on the top rung. 5:02

He needs a longer portable ladder where he can work from the third rung and no higher than that.

Yes Kimberley-Z that is an excellent evaluation of the unsafe portable ladder usage and methods of abatement of the hazard, well done!

Also Mr. Gabby had to use one hand to climb the portable ladder and the other one to hold the paint can and the brush which is unsafe! 😮

That portable ladder was made of wood, those were very popular back in 1969. It looks like a 6 foot ladder.

Smokey the Bear, an American icon, who helps teach us all how to avoid forest fires, and................................................... Toei did all the animation for this, at the same time doing animation for Gegege Kitaro! Also, a lot of beatnik references in this.

From Rankin/Bass production, there are no Paul Frees, June Foray, Ira Stadlen and Don Messick, only Jackson Weaver, Billie Mae Richards, Carl Banas and Paul Soles.

Too bad about this campaign. Instead you could have leveraged indigenous knowledge about forest stewardship and prevented a lot of damage.
