This has got to be the longest single video on YT that I have watched and I loved every single second of it. I love comics, got them since I was a kid (Marvel, DC, TMNT, etc.). But as I grew older I became more of a movie/series person. Thank you for doing this, it's like that feeling of loving what you read in the comics again. Never gonna forget Sandman's "I am hope." line. Such a simple yet powerful phrase that I needed to hear today.

I had never heard of the Sandman before but watched the Netflix adaptation by chance yesterday. I was utterly captured by it and while trying to find out more about the story, learned that it’s based on a comic book series. After watching this video, I’m amazed at how well the live action adaptation was made. All the changes only served to improve the already great source material. I really missed out not knowing about the Sandman earlier XD

The three are a much older godhead than in wicca, who are just the latest religion to worship them. To the greeks they were Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos - the Fates, or Moirai. To the vikings they were Urd, Skuld and Verdandi - the Norns. The Celts knew them as the night washerwomen, whose appearance foretells death, and Shakespeare imagined them as the Wyrd Sisters. There are also ties with the three Graces of ancient greece, but that's a more beneficent aspect than most of the others. And then there's Hecate, but let's not dwell too much on her....

Audible hosts a good reading of The Sandman; the voice actors and sound effects are great. I only wish that it had the entirety of The Sandman but it only goes for perhaps 3-4x what was covered in this video. Still one of my favourite Audible purchases. If you can find paperbacks of it, the later chapters are really cool, exploring the nature of stories - how we shape them and are shaped by them, the power of connection; its all just a really great read.
