I show you how to assemble miniature windows and doors, and install glass using acetate sheets. I show you how to 3D print and paint your own miniature details, like chairs, tables, cast iron benches. Next, show you how to add working LED lighting to your scale model dioramas, dollhouses, wargaming terrain, model railway scenery, and military WW2 dioramas. I show you how to paint dioramas using spray cans, acrylic paint, acrylic washes, enamel washes, airbrushing. Then, I show you how to paint a brass finish using alclad chrome paints. I show you how to scratchbuild furniture using styrene plastic sheets and strips. After that, I show you how to add architectural details with basswood and balsa wood strips, and dollhouse molding and trim for miniature cornice, baseboard, and more. I show you how to photograph scale models to look realistic in night time lighting, as well as outdoor natural light. I use miniature diecast model cars to add realism in the diorama. Vintage Retro scale model, 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s.

Howdy, I'm a very big early 1900s enthusiast. Here are a couple of things to note, for a more historical accurate diorama: The street signs would have been either a tin or porcelain, and the restaurant sign would have been porcelain. Wood was another option. When it comes to banks, the sign would have been engraved into the building. Also, if you had more time, the 1920s and 1930s were considered "Art Deco," meaning a more fancy design to things. Following that, advertising signs were very popular, along with murals.

That’s genuinely stunning work, I suppose the only other aspect it needs is a few figures. It’s amazing how 3D printing and laser cutting is doing away with so much of the need to scratchbuild, having to make those windows and other intricate pieces by hand would have prevented a lot of people from even attempting something like this. It’s a piece of art.
@smolworldworkshop
@smolworldworkshop 22 күн бұрын
Thank you for your kind words, and I totally agree about laser cutting and 3D printing! While I love a good scratch build, the repetitive details would have been an inefficient use of time in my opinion. These tools allow makers to design and produce kit quality parts which is why I enjoy using them. Thanks again for the support and for watching!

Definitely Hollywood special effects level. For those of us who collect diecast models this is incredible because there is no point in having these models and leaving them in boxes. A diorama like this gives them the perfect display setting. All you need now is access to laser cutters and 3-D printers.

Incredible detail, all i can say, is I would not have wanted to be part of the crew of tiny workers responsible for installing that huge plate glass transom in the bank. I bet they all breathed a collective sigh of relief when it was in place for sure ;)

Thank you very much! And yes that part really stressed out the mini workers, but they were super relieved when it was finished!

Dude! This is amazing!!! I love the style / time period you chose to reference. So much tiny trim and mouldings! Don't ever worry about how long it takes to get a project done, especially with results like these! Or hell, take a page out of Bentley House Minis' book and just take us along for the ride over like 4 years lol!

Another master-level diorama, absolutely fantastic work. I am one of those who doesn't mind waiting for projects of this quality, please don't rush anything on my account. I hope in future you can add some interior details! Our local library has a laser cutter and I hope to learn how to use it one day, it would have helped on my current project, for which I had to make two square feet of cardboard shingles LOL. Thanks for all the great projects and tips.

Thank you very much! It’s nice knowing my viewers are okay with me taking my time. I’d love to add some more interior details! Also I’m sure you’ll be able to learn how to use it! It definitely would’ve been amazing for repetitive tasks like shingles! Good luck with your projects!

David R Lentz, USA I take enormous delight, and keen observation, watching you design, assemble, paint, build, etc., these remarkable structures. I have a similar interest: dioramas and background scenery for my 1:25th-scale kits of cars and trucks of the 1920s, centring upon several later versions of the Ford Model T series of vehicles; I have counted at least five conventional iterations: roadster, coupe, pickup truck, depot hack, Tall T, and possibly others (I discount the later one-off modifications later buyers had made). I also will include 1b) MPC’s 1921 Oldsmobile (see the BMCK channel as “GRANNY'S HOT ROD” [of The Beverly Hillbillies 1960s television programme], KZbin kit build video, Saturday, 6 November, 2023); 1c) Revell’s Duesenberg CJ; 1d) MPC’s 1927 Lincoln (as in “KZbin build video, Part 1”, Dansmodelworx channel, Monday, 7 August, 2023); 1e) Lindberg’s three 1926 Mack trucks; 1f) another Mack truck converted to a tractor drawing a heavily loaded freight trailer of some sort-one where we can see the cargo; 1g) Monogram’s Packard 1930 Boat-tail Speedster , 1h), Lindberg’s Auburn and Cord, 1h) I wish I could find a kit of a 1931 Cadillac V-12 cabriolet (convertible) coupe; Captain Kirk (William Shatner) drove (well, sort of) one in the original Star Trek 1960s television series, “A Piece of the Action”, with Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy) at his right, amongst others. Of course, such urban settings will require perhaps dozens of buildings, many familial and commercial establishments: a general store, a tailor’s, a smithy, a grocer’s with his fruit stand, a butcher-shop, a barbershop, with a shoe-shine boy, a hairdresser’s, a hotel, a chemist’s or an apothecary, and many more. To these would I add figurines to represent the scores of patrons, shopkeepers, and passers-by bustling about their various errands. Telegraph/telephone poles, black, cast-iron light-posts and traffic signals, signposts of every sort, trees yet fresh in their springtime verdancy, and more will crowd one another along the verge bounding the sidewalks and the lawns. At both ends of the gently curving street will be a number of private homes, some rather plain, a few quite lovely, and perhaps one a bit of a mystery . . . .
