A Scottish baron would have killed a Prussian general for it and presented it to Queen Anne of Britain as a gift. Upon hearing it for the first time Queen Anne would have collapsed on the floor and started convulsing to which a mortified Prince George would have exclaimed "Annie are you ok?"

As a matter of fact, this is a lot more work than a DJ does. The sheets are often prepared by the player, the instrument needs constant maintenance to make sure it plays well (it has a lot of mechanical parts), and - last but not least - the lever should be turned at a constant rate with a steady hand.
@RhodaLevy5 жыл бұрын
Its 2020 now and this just popped up in my feed...I'm impressed, not only at the Barrel Organ but at the concept and fact that the music is modern day in that there was no paper feed for this song...it takes true knowladge on the intracacies of this machine to punch the proper patterns and create the sounds it takes to get this result. You maybe standing in a woodpile but we all are witnessing a master of this music , assuming you provided the ''roll'' for this organ.

@downtowncoyote88359 жыл бұрын
+Der Kaiser like, i know everyone up to this point has been making jokes also I don't want to be the guy that takes it all too seriously and then the classic you tube fight starts, but.... Being DJ or like disk jockey was pretty easy, but like everything else in our world like it has changed quite a lot since the 1960s. Now a DJ is someone who spends hours cutting and sampling and programming sound boards and changing levels rapidly to vary preexisting tracks. Check out Madeon - Pop Culture for a good example of what it looks like now. Our friend in the wood yard above has probably used a machine similar to a keyboard or type writer to make that punch card, and honestly that isn't that much different from someone making a track of pre-programmed note for whatever electronic song. What this guy did certainly isn't "lame" or "boring" but it is entirely something someone who calls themselves a DJ would be expected to be able to do. There are a lot of people with the false nostalgia glasses here (in this comments section) who really want to dig on modern music because its "easy" I feel like thats a morally incorrect thing to do.
