I’m just wondering are you outside of the US? I’m in Australia and it doesn’t work for me either but I have discovered that next to no discount codes work down here. Probably shipping costs etc? Anyway I just wanted to let you know that it could be your problem. If not I hope Melissa is able to get them to sort it out. The fact that I can never support Melissa is so frustrating but I make up for it by liking every single video and I watch as many as I can more than once. I believe that if we skip over any ads that might pop the channel doesn’t get paid so if there is an ad I first skip it cause I’m too excited to keep watching her but then if I’m doing chores around the house I will often play her video again even if I am not even in that room anymore. The upside is that I’m still supporting a lovely human and I’m saving money 😂

I looked at Sephora and Shoppers Drugmart and neither carry City Beauty products. Then I checks Walmart Canada. I almost fell off my chair. They want $135 Canadian for one tube. Ordering from the US now is cost prohibitive as our Canadian dollar tanked a few weeks ago and the exchange rate is over 30%.

I want to try the new Revlon thin lipsticks! I can carry one in my glass case when I don't want to lug my purse around & my lips won't suffer without a covering. I got a Ravie one from Allie Glines but it broke & I do not raise my lipsticks up too far & that was what bothered me! To pay that much for it to be useless . . . Love that sweater color!! I don’t think that 4 weeks is long enough for any sort of trial regarding skin. A young healthy person’s skin turnover is on average 28 days and of course as we get older the stats are even harder to track given all of the extra variables. So in my opinion unless someone has used it for a minimum of three months I wouldn’t put much stock in their opinion. However having said that, just as with any skin care product, it is still going to be very difficult to say how well it will work for you from watching someone else’s experience. Personally I think City Beauty’s own ads for the product do it a massive dis-service and they put me off trying it for years. But once Melissa and a couple of other beauty channels started showing it, and they were all very reputable women who I believe would not take sponsorship for the money I believe they all genuinely want the best for their subscribers, that’s when I decided to take the plunge. Again it’s skincare not a miracle cure but for my daughter and I it works when it’s used consistently, Just like everything else skincare. Maybe if you’re not sure about the investment maybe it could be an early Christmas gift from someone in your life?

Since you recommended for everyone to go watch her video and you were the second person to talk about Sheri in Melissa’s comments I did watch her video. I think that there is an important consideration to take into account when deciding if what an influencer is saying does or doesn’t work. And that would be how close to your own age, skin type etc is said influencer to your own? And you should probably consider if you are going to agree on the influencers definition of “fine lines and wrinkles”. As much as I enjoyed Sheri’s personality for me personally I would not define her lips or upper lips as only fine lines. I have watched enough videos that if my lips were a match to hers I would wholeheartedly believe that only a strong retinol product and or in office procedures are going to offer me any hope of improvement. I have to agree that if your lips are in the same category as Sheri’s then there is an extremely high probability you are not going to notice much difference at all if any. Also given that she makes reference to looking for a fix to stop her lipstick bleeding when doing cheer, I feel it can safely be assumed that she has more than just age induced lines to contend with. And by use of logic and critical thinking if your lips don’t look like Sheri’s then her results most likely won’t look like yours or anyone else’s results and therefore her deduction that the product does not work can not be taken as a blanket truth. And if you had logic and you loved Melissa could you not have the common sense to realise that by telling everyone to watch another channel you are implying that Melissa is being untruthful?? Or worse is just a money grabber?? What would have been more polite to post would have been something along the lines of ; “if your lips are not as smooth and as plump as Melissa’s then you might need to look for an influencer whose lips are in a similar shape and condition as yours before you decide if you want to try this product for yourself”

Hi Melissa, it’s such a shame City Lips has such a penchant for warm colours. Your gift for mixing colours means that you are going to end up with countless colour combos! At the risk of over staying my welcome in this video’s comments section I just wanted to say for everyone getting the City Lips for the first time, to remember at its core it is a skincare product which means the best results only come with consistency. I have in the past seen comments where people have said it doesn’t work, or it’s a scam etc. I just wanted to let everyone know that I have been using it for over a year now and I can assure you it works because unfortunately I am not consistent! As with a lot of things, I didn’t realise how well it was working until I fell out of the habit of using it nightly at least, I was looking at my lip lines and wondering what I was doing wrong? I’m old and a tad slow 😂 but it dawned on me that I had not been regularly using my CityLips and as soon as I got back onto it they started to improve again. Also my 20yo daughter who does not even have the hint of a lip line does actually have the driest lips ever. Some mornings she would wake up and I would think, not only do her lips looks dried up autumn leaves any minute they might crumble to dust like an autumn leaf 🍁 because they had always been like that she didn’t know any different and it only rarely bothered her. I gave her a city lips and it really didn’t take long for her to come and say that it was making a huge difference and she had no idea her lips could feel so smooth!

Oh Melissa how devastating to learn (in your extremely generous response to one of your critics in the comments) that your KZbin channel is also struggling. I know this is the rare occasion that hearing you are not alone is of little comfort. I watch a few different genres including music reactions, art tutorials, thrifting and DIY when I can. I have noticed that a lot of channels are struggling and none of them seem to know what KZbin is doing, why they are doing it or how to fix/turn their channel around. I need to go on a bit of a tangent to make my idea easier to understand, and I don’t know all of the details of how it came to be, essentially Some time ago in the music reaction sector there 4 or 5 of the “big” channels who were all reacting to the same new up and coming artist, Ren, somehow it came to their attention that there was a channel coping blocks and various other things from KZbin and they were not. So they banded together and made a stand and now have a great international friendship and have also nick named themselves the avengers. I can’t afford to join all of their patreon groups so I don’t know much more than that. But my point of all of this is to say that maybe you and your beauty friends can do something similar? At least start with an online think tank of some kind to maybe at least figure out if there is a common thread as to where KZbin is letting you all down? And maybe come up with some ideas on where to go from there? “A rising tide lifts all boats” - John F Kennedy I know that all of your dedicated followers are now praying,in one form or another, that you don’t need to put your camera down and get a 9-5 job. However I also know that if that is what you have to do for your family we support you. If I could be so selfish as to say, maybe you could squeeze in one video a month? and if you can we will all still be right here supporting you! Hi Joy. I'm not. And I totally understand where you're coming from. Here's a little of the backstory I'm going through. Because of the season with the holiday shopping, I just happened to be approached by 3 companies that needed their videos up within 3 weeks of each other. My last sponsored video was over 4 months ago. My views & view time have tanked, & my channel is failing miserably, so I felt like I couldn't pass up the little bit of extra income to help my family. It's gotten so bad that I'm only making about minimum wage, which in my state is $7.25/hour. That kind of gives you an idea of how far I've fallen. The other thing is that I've been on KZbin for 9 years & have just barely been approached by some of these companies. Where younger creators get constantly. So, for me, it's an honor. But no, my plan is to expand into a lot of different things & topics of interest for the mature woman. I'm putting up a video tomorrow about this. I've got to figure this mess out or put down my camera & find a 9 to 5 job. I truly do appreciate your support & hope you hang with me as I go through this painful growing stage.
