THE DRESS IS BLACK AND BLUE. It is simply the position of where the dress was when the photo was taken. It has a shading on it and therefore turning blue and black into white and gold. Our brains are awesome!

Gold can turn black in darker lighting but black cannot turn gold in any circumstance.

considering the lightning on your computer screen, plus the lightning in the photo, that's a lot to consider and therefore you can not be sure. and gold can turn black when there are more than one surface colour. I believe you haven't watched ASAP science yet? because by your conclusion, you are stating that your points are more relevant than their points.

It was actually a distortion caused by the phone's camera and how it takes pictures, sometimes pixels are swapped or their colors are changed, but the difference is so small that it's a relatively close number of gold and black pixels so our brains perceive it differently, just like the color yellow. It's actually pretty common....
