10:13 Dolores Paradise, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2021 at her home in Brockton, MA. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, and was a graduate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. Music was central to Dolores’s life. She began to play the piano at the age of 4 and was a classical vocal soprano in her college years and 20’s. Dolores went on to perform and record music during the post-punk/new wave years of Boston’s vibrant independent music scene (White Women, Megabeat) in the early 1980’s. In the years that followed, Dolores began to write, record, and release pop/electronica music through her own music label, Shoe City Sound, in collaboration with her musical and life partner, Judith O’Mara. Her music is widely distributed via online platforms and streaming services. Almost as important as music to Dolores were visual aesthetics. Very little made her happier than to be surrounded by appealing sights and sounds. She had a great appreciation and talent for interior design, as noted by anyone who ever entered her home. This talent and appreciation extended to the exterior, and Dolores took great pleasure and time gardening and maintaining her own landscaping. She truly had green hands and never met a plant or flower that did not thrive under her care. But, beyond all of this, Dolores was a fun person to be around. While being a deeply private person in many aspects, she genuinely enjoyed socializing with people, had a wonderful knack for conversation, and an immense sense of humor. Dolores had an innate gift for making the most mundane situations feel celebratory. Anyone who ever had the occasion to have a conversation with her (strangers included) would attest to her uncanny ability to make you feel genuinely “heard” - a rare commodity, indeed. She will be deeply missed by and truly touched more people than she could have ever imagined. Hers was a life well lived. Dolores is survived by her partner Judith O’Mara of Brockton, MA, her son Adrien Doherty of Somerville, MA, her sister Terri D’Richards of Henderson, NV, many nieces and nephews, and a multitude of adoring friends. No services will be held at this time. A celebration of Dolores’s life will be held at a later date. Donations in her name may be made to Musicians Without Borders

Honestly the question Angela had where it asked what profession she would choose- hearing her talk that she would choose being a doctor or something like that to help people, and then also being a painter and then the ask about whether she would just choose to stay with what she already chose, that HIT. Because she is helping people doing this. I hope they all realize how much they truly do help. I have personally been going through one of the greatest, but most difficult process of getting through trauma, severe depression and retrying to find my footing in the world. Guess what I do to calm down or when it gets so overwhelming and hard? I watch THESE videos. While my body wants to give up, when I'm crying in pain and frustrations, these videos help me regain my focus and snap me out of it. I really hope they see this and how much they truly do help people. My actual account is not even logged into my phone, but I just had that happen and pulled this video up.

This is the healthy side of being somewhat parasocial, cuz it is just true. Do we know them irl? No. But them essentialy putting out content for free that is an escape and can be healing is very real. The interactions, their personalities. Distinct, yet meshing well. At the end of the day it is people communicating, people putting something into the world they truly believe in, they put their love into, hoping someone out there will like it. Its very vulnerable in that way, in particular in those unscripted video where there are no obscuring layers, the entertainment comes from who they are, from who they connect with. Its human.

this is word for word how i feel. i'm going through the exact same things- had a rough therapy session about my trauma and what helped me calm down/ground myself/improve my mood was watching these videos. the tears quickly dried, my heart rate slowed down and i found myself laughing for the first time that day. everything you said is bang on, they help people way more than they realise :)

It's one of my biggest fears. I'm recently started a new job and I've been super lonely being away from family. I've never really had many friends but those that I did have I clung to. I get so excited when I get to go home and see my family or make a new friend. or just hang out with people in general. but then when I'm at home and I'm alone I feel that very heavy lonely.

AMANDA!! do I have some recommendations for you: - Aşk-ı Memnu (Forbidden love): this is a modern adaptation of a very popular book in turkey and the show is so popular that it’s re-aired every year -Muhteşem yüzyıl (Magnificent century): this is our game of thrones without fantasy elements, it’s basically the history of the ottoman empire but the story revolves around the most influantial sultan/queen -Aşk101 (Love101): this is a very good netflix show about a group of high school misfits and towards the end their grown-up stories are also revealed you can find the first 2 on youtube btw hope you see this! happy watching and you mentioning turkish tv shows was probably the most mention of turkey in smosh history😂
