Someone should have told them that the bioscanner isn’t a test for the people chosen. If both people get them right, the captain gets to choose someone to scan to determine if they are a human or alien. If you're a human you're supposed to put 2 people you think are also human in there, because if both people get all of the symbols right, the bio scanner opens and you get to scan one of the crewmates and find out if they're human or alien.
