Basic explanation of game rules with on screen little pop ups explaining the nuances of the rules as they happen is the perfect balance for me. Like for werewolf when the editors would add the description on screen for each role and what they can do without y’all having to explain it verbally. Without any explanation it’s hard to follow the video, but the on screen explainers from the editors are SO helpful without breaking the flow of the game play.

I agree. They don't have to go in to every mechanic, but a general gist. I wont remember it all the way through either way. The best is a short intro with base rules and then added stuff as things happen... Kourtney often add lots of good explanations in the editing that is very helpful

I love these videos so much! A big part about what makes Smosh so great is that the audience gets to feel like they're hanging out with the gang, the audience is in on the jokes, etc. And these reaction videos are great because instead of the fans feeling like they're sitting in on a board game or whatever, now the cast get to basically sit in on what the fans are up to (making and watching bomb-ass compilation videos.) It's a fun little flipparoo that shows how Smosh values having a back & forth, symbiotic relationship with us. Also, you know, it's fun to watch them react to themselves and get the inside scoop / bts details :)
