Malayalam film music industry especially a couple of decades back was controlled by a few people who will never allow newer talents to come up and show their talent. Unni Menon also should have a similar fate but he was able to move out of Malayalam industry, moved to Tamil industry and rest is history. Even Raveendran who may have suffered initially never looked beyond Yesudas. M Jayachandran can be considered the best music director in Malayalam mainly due to his bold stand of giving opportunities to other talents. Again only in the Indian music industry, we will see this phenomenon of separate lyricist, music director and singer. In most other parts of the world, all the three roles will be performed by the same person, especially in the English music take the legendary, Beatles, Eagles, Michael Jackson, Rolling Stone, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, Guns N' Roses are a few examples.
