SMRS Race B @ Caraway Speedway 4/14/2018 ***Myers-Gerstner Retaliation???***

The second 50-lapper (Race B) for the SMRS Tour at Caraway Speedway in Sophia, NC!
After the finishing order of these hot rods in Race A they were inverted, resulting in the following starting order:

Tim Brown ("The Rocket") quickly advanced to the front of the field, by turn three of lap 1 Burt Myers had already made his way from fourth to second and Jeremy Gerstner locked in the third spot on turn two of lap 2! Brown held a few car lead for the majority of the race, while Myers and Gerstner continued to duke it out for the 2 spot! Ultimately, Brown went on to win this race, Myers finished second and Gerstner in third!
In post-race interviews Brown said "my guys never give up...we were absolutely terrible in the race"..."we just keep working on this car". I had to send Todd (Todd Hunt) a text a while ago and said man, i'll be honest with you we suck, ya know." Brown said that "he (Todd Hunt) said think positive, you've got one more race." Brown replied "I'm pretty much sure we're gonna suck then too. The guys just made the right call for moving the tires around, for the adjustments they made" and when asked how he likes these twin 50-lappers he was quick to state "I like the twin 50's, i hate these tires", referring to the tire combo change for 2018 (check out the tire change article below)!
During second place finisher Burt Myers' post-race interview he said "we got our car a little bit better, we're still just working hard to find the balance with these tires. In my opinion, it takes the driver ability out of your hands, to be able to hustle the race car to get a little extra out of it...you're just kinda at the mercy of the tires." Burt stated "I don't know what the fans see but I don't see that the racing is as good on this tire, because it doesn't give you the chance to burn your stuff up. I think the races on these tires are very predictable right now. We're gonna work hard and we'll be back!"
In his post-race interview, third place finisher Jeremy Gerstner stated "I kinda like them (referring to the new Hoosier tire combo) but it's so hard to pass once you get strung out." He stated "the old saying is, to be the best you've gotta beat the best"........"I'm proud to be able to run with these guys... I hate we got into it in the first one, the little incident...I know we'll shake it all off; me, Burt and Tim will all be friends and we'll go the stadium (referring to Bowman Gray Stadium "The Madhouse") and have some fun this year! referring to the contact between Burt Myers and himself in Race A earlier in the night.
As of today 4/18/2018, the SMRS points official standings have not been posted on their site (link below) but you can check out the facebook link below courtesty of Mitchell Poole (Thank you), that lists what the standings should be following these races at Caraway.

8 cars in a touring series, thats why i quit following that tour. I dont think its so much the series tour as it is the owners of the tour.
