[SMRT] Last Day | Last Buses - 171, 853, 854, 855, 856, 857

Maxson Goh Films the last day of services 171, 853, 854, 855, 856, 857 under SMRT buses before the handover to Tower Transit Singspore under the Sembawang-Yishun bus package. Included are the last departures from Yishun integrated transport hub, including the last 856 in and out of the interchange.

Honestly can't wait to see SMRT rojak Citaros in SBS Transit base colours during Jurong West Bus Package since the last time we saw those buses was in 2022 before handed to various operators.

Used to take 856 a lot during my childhood with the oldies, now it’s handing over to another owner. Will missed the times I had with SMRT in Yishun. Thank you SMRT for creating the wonderful memories

857 was the bus I used to take to visit my grandparents every week from 2017 - 2019, it was pretty much the current models like the Enviros and A95's, only difference is they have the SMRT logo still being intact, now that's all the past and I'm already missing them a ton... Still I'm happy to ride on the relatively new Tower Transit buses today :)

Once upon a time, SMRT used to be the sole bus operator in Yishun (before introduction of 39). Now, sadly, it looks like SMRT will be the only operator not in Yishun after the transition is complete :(

Yshun bus interchange will still have 171 853 854 855 856 and lastly 857 will be still in service in yshun bus interchange just swiched from SMRT to tower transit. Maby you can see those buses in tower transit one day.

Good thing, majority of the bus services under the package will not be withdrawn and some will introduce / re-introduce double decker buses under the new operator.

Since I don't know much about these buses since I'm from malaysia, are these buses gonna be operating here, but under a differrent ownership? I'm just curious how it works And whats the difference between green and silver busses? Well anyways I hope memories of these busses live on

You are correct, they will be operating under a different owner. Green is the uniformed colour for sg buses, eventually all our buses will be green. Those in other colours are older buses than have not been repainted. Hope this helps 😁

The control of these services are transferred to Tower Transit. SMRT buses is still around but operating other routes.
