I’m never tired of listening Ranjani in my life. I am 82 years come from a music background in Mylapore in Chennai lived in Delhi after marriage now settled in Bangalore near Chowdaiah Memorial Hall Presently on a visit to my daughter’s house in Chicago listening Ranjani Hebbar’s Mix on KZbin. Right now listening to Soundara RaAjam in Brindavana Saranga which years back she sang in Cleveland. Her Octaves are amazing. It’s her body died but not herself. I’m a devotee of Ramanna Maharishi. She is a living soul ever.

I was looking for the song, “ innu Daya barade”, and happened to see her father’s comment, mentioning her as “ she WAS “. When I read his post fully, I was astonished. When I looked at the dates, I came to know, she attained her heavenly abode in 2013. I don’t know how I missed the devastating news of a great singer. Like someone mentioned she has the post of “ Deva Gayakimani “ in the Satyaloka to sing while Devi Saraswathi is playing on the Veena.

Wonder why they have given her such an incompetent and terrible violinist. Sounds as if she didn't even understood the raga. Renjini Habbar brings the magic of the raga in the alapana and in the rendition of the krithi also. And the accompanyment destroyed eveything. Poor Renjini. She deserves the best violinist. accompaniment.

I think you are being unduly and needlessly harsh. It wasn't that bad. Accompanying is a lot harder than it looks. Her alapana was fine, and I don't see what fault you found with it, apart from lot of movement on stage. RH's rendition of the krithi was somewhat different from the norm, and you can't expect the violinist to be able to capture every nuance on stage like that. If you think you could have done better you should have been there. It is easy to sit back and criticise.
