@@real3ater I think SMTV is a direct sequel of Nocturne, rather than Apocalypse, on that game Lucifer transformed into Satan and got killed by Nanashi, meanwhile on Nocturne Demifiend and Lucifer raised the flag of a final war against yhvh. and while there are no mentions of IV and apocalypse's events, V is full of references to the demifiend and the conception, even this ending references the cycle of creation the conception worked around. Also, Lucifer's personality in V is much, much closer to the one shown in Nocturne, rather than the psycho you see in IV and apocalypse.

In Nocturne the main theme was Reasons, as the characters tried to make sense of the world as they knew it and what it was lacking, trying to come up with a concept of the ideal world based on that. Here, the theme is Knowledge, because ultimately, any Reason you may have can change the moment new information is revealed to you, which is exemplified in Lucifer becoming neutral after learning what YHVH knew. It's also why the MC is mainly presented as a student reading a book, and the main conflict is between a central authority decreeing what is the one true Knowledge (Dazai: The world doesn't an excess of false opinions) and multiple ones stablishing that truth can't be truth outside of stablished cultural boundaries (Atsuta: Only each land's pantheon can understand it's needs)

From a gameplay perspective, absolutely. But remember, Shiva was going to destroy the universe so, regardless of which decision you made, it's implied it wouldn't have mattered in the end. Beating Shiva takes that possibility away and, as such, makes the True Neutral ending feasible. That's how I saw it, anyway.

While the emotional, sentimental part of me doesn't like that your demon allies / friends essentially get oblivion as a reward for their service, this ending path was absolutely necessary and is the best ending from a standpoint of cold logic. After defeating Shiva he informs MC that even though he is leaving their world that doesn't mean the threat of the Rudra Astra is going with him as it can take on another form and can still spell the end of life and their planet, and that one who wishes to truly rule must be able stop a looming threat such as this. This must subconsciously make MC think that the threat of the Rudra Astra could again eventually stem from powerful gods and demons like Shiva, and they will be a threat to him and the world he creates, which is true. So if MC chooses to not support the demons of God's legion of Bethel or the lesser demon gods Amatsukami and chooses to destroy the Throne, it helps lessen the odds of the Rudra Astra occuring. Later in the Empyrean Nuwa makes MC aware of another option, using the Throne instead of destroying it, to make a world for primarily humanity without gods or demons to oppress and prey upon them, and it seems like the solution / choice that leads to the True Neutral ending. She probably did this out of compassion for Yakumo, who she loved, but also because she has empathy for the struggles and suffering that he and MC have been through as humans, and so that MC can uphold her and Yakumo's and still create the world he wants, even if it means she'll no longer exist. Ceasing the existence of supernatural lifeforms ensures that humanity, besides themselves, will have no other intelligent threats to worry about when it comes to attempting to realize the Rudra Astra.

Few seem to comprehend that the Lucifer fight is easy because Lucifer wants to lose, he wants to "Be truly free from the circle of death and rebirth" and knowing that YHVH getting killed and being reborn is basically a meme now, Lucifer will also come back... Unless he allows himself to get killed by Nahobino, then Naho absorbs his knowledge and applies that to ending the Mandala system, IF Lucifer had used his full power, then he could have reduced the universe to ashes in a single move, but that would have gone against everything he truly desires... Much like in some Hebrew and other books, in where Lucifer claims to stand against YHVH for the sake of humanity, in this case he literally gave his life for them to be completely free of Gods, Demons and all such beings (or concepts if you like me are not strictly religious)

Don't ask me how but I got to this as the final boss of my first playthrough, even though I never did any of those sidequests. I selected the middle option. First I had to fight Abdiel, then I had to fight Nuwa and Yakumo snake nahobino. Now I'm stuck on Lucifer. Tough final boss.

Lucifur is the final boss in all ending except for "destroy the throne" ending. The true ending version of Lucifur is different from the other fights with Lucifur in the other endings. True ending Lucifur has multiple hp bars along with phases and a higher lvl, and uses Morning Star a team wipe attack (although it's easy to stop)

@@OmegaMkVII from what I did, you just need to have unlock the secret ending, which requires several quest lines to finish. They have to be beaten before choosing your ending. The quests are the Egyptian quest line, you can start this quest line by talking to an angel in the Norse area in the final area. note: DO NOT KILL Khonsu after defeating as this will end the questline prematurely and completely lose the secret ending. do the Fionn quest line this is simply doing all the quests in the fairy village and he'll appear in the final big map with a quest, complete and there you go. the last and hardest quest to do is to defeat Shiva, if you don't want to deal with him if your in Normal difficulty you can lower the difficulty, defeat him, and put it back after the fight. unless your in hard mode and then you can't do that cheat. You can search online to double check the requirements for the secret ending incase i missed a few things. If you defeat Nahobino Abdiel and Nuwa appears right after the fight then you unlocked it and then you'll have two choices once you approach the throne, "Destroy the throne" (which has to be chosen in the first place) and now the new "Create a world for humanity alone" (this is the secret ending and secret fight against Lucifur) sorry you have to read this all

Defeated Shiva then came back and finished the area with everything done but no ending. So guessing either it's NG+ exclusive or you actually need to do it all before the Metatron fight.

The only way to fight him is if youve done all the requirements to get this ending (Destroying the throne alternate option) You have to do all of Demeters/Egyptian/Fionn/Amano/Shiva Super Boss to be able to fight him. You HAVE to pick the destroy the throne ending to be even eligible to fight him so yeah, Cant do it for either Law/Chaos has to be the nuetral

Nahobino chooses to use the throne instead of destroying it in order to create a world devoid of gods and demons. Lucifer says hi and persuades you to seek him out after informing him that his desired change wouldn't last forever and that seeking him out will allow him to pass the knowledge on how to make the changes permanent. Thus this final battle where defeating Lucifer will allow Nahobino to absorb the required knowledge to disconnect his universe from the 'Mandala Cycle' which is essentially the system which allows gods and demons to exist. Not to similar to the 'Amala Network'. At the end Nahobino recreates the universe without gods and demons permanently except for maybe himself as he is now the true God(he essentially becomes YHVH for his own universe)

I just finished the game, and I've never been this disappointed with the gameplay of an SMT... This SMT is easier than even "Persona 5". I was surprised how the requirements to get this ending ended up making the player extremely OP. But even at a level equal to the boss, it's still an easy boss fight. But it's horrible how the difficulty of this SMT revolves around only the characters' level. It's totally broken.

I kind of agree. I played on hard to keep things interesting. Those miracles are pretty broken tbh. Like allowing all demons to use items. Completely removes the choice of sacrificing a skill slot and choosing which demon to do so on. Instead you buy it once and every demon has it. I had to purposely avoid buying it and I still beat Shiva on hard. That was a fun fight. Narratively giving your demons such broken abilities makes sense as you are a God on the come up. Also I feel they needed to make it easier as so many gameplay changes were made. In case some didnt pan out it would be really ill recieved to have changes and brutal difficulty to boot.

Without the level scaling, it actually feels great. Like, with Demi-Fiend, where both of you are expected to be the same level, and you can't go over, it feels really good. I like the balance there a lot. I do wish this felt more like 4a or Nocturne though... I do think P5r was easier than this though... That one you could literally "accidentally" be op, if you know what I mean. Here, it felt like they generally dumped you into stuff so low level it took effort to get overleveled. And I say that as someone who did all quests and boss fights. I was almost never overleveled for story stuff, just some side quest stuff... Though all that gets thrown out for Shiva, which I think is the worst balance choice for the ending hours.

i always hate the neutral endings the most i avoid them whenever i can

Most of them certainly aren't permament solutions, and often lack finality. But that's the point of Neutrality in the series, the struggle of mankind to stay on the path of self-determination is an eternal one. Naturally it would feel less fulfilling for those who believe in a cause or desire finality. Same applies to the real world, there are countless sources that wish to twist us into acolytes for causes, many of which tempt us with the visions of utopia, permament solutions in a world of temporarity.

@@maybeimrambling9401 Fair enough, it's not exactly something one should demand all of humanity to follow, in that aspect the Neutral endings fail. The journey Neutral path in most games speaks of is one solely for the individual themselves to take/follow, not something to be forced upon others. In reality, many of us are situated somewhere between Neutral & either Chaos or Law depending on philosophies & belief systems we follow.

@@sintheemptyone8108 personally i think the smt franchise is japan's their way of venting being so up america's ass considering how nationalistic they are and the whole mess with china i'm sure they feel like being stuck between a rock and a hard place. well personally again i prefer law because i have seen chaos irl and been around it and i find it abhorrent i wouldn't want to see it even in friction although sometimes i go 100 percent chaos because it's fun as hell sometimes lol

The "new" form is actually the true, original form of Lucifer, prior to his fall. The game suggests that in reality he has ALWAYS remained in this form, and that his "demonic form" is actually a sort of illusion generated by the Condemnation that God has imposed on him, combined with the change of perception of humanity towards of him, after his fall from grace. An illusion so powerful that it remained even after the death of God himself. In fact, before the fight begins, Lucifer points out that the Nahobino possesses enough power to be able to "see his true form", revealing how the Nahobino has transcended enough to be able to see beyond God's illusion, and therefore Lucifer's real form.

@@jackour8167 I highly doubt Demi Fiend is higher than YHVH, The biggest feat he's done is defeat Kagutsuchi which is a aspect of YHVH, the lucifur fight in Nocturne, Lucifur was likely holding back as he was testing him. At most Demi fiend is equal to normal Lucifur if not slightly below him

Why would he send someone weaker than him to accomplish something he himself can't do? I swear you people are worse than fither. Demi fiend in 5 has power superior to end game Nahobino who just acquired /destroyed the Heavenly throne making him full powered Yhvh level easily.

@@jackour8167 in Nocturne Lucifur literally says "I must know the extent of the power of darkness inside you" he's testing Demi Fiend if he's a strong ally against YHVH, after beating him he says "together, to the final battle where our true enemy awaits" which means it took both Lucifur and Demi fiend to defeat YHVH which is already a big feat with just 2 people. Since Demi Fiend is a optional DLC fight in SMT 5 it's most likely non canon and the outcome after the fight Nahobino doesn't look at all tired and since this fight can happen before entering the Empyrean Nahobino isn't even at his peak. There's nothing to say Metatron is greatly above Kagutsuchi since Metatron is fought before him, I'd put them at most equal to each other Demi Fiend is so overrated, quit making him so much stronger than he actually is

Putting him way above kagutsuchi. 2. Oh my f*cking God *DLC'S ARE F*CKING CANON* There is no reason to assume they're not. They're published by atlus, they're f*cking Canon. And there absolutely nothing you can do about it. 3. Put yourself in lucifer's shoes, and his plan in your head, you'd want demi fiend to be stronger than you. Because if he wasn't, your plans go sh*t. Lucifer literally can't even hurt Yhvh. 4. If anything, he's underrated, everywhere I go, I always see people like "hE cAn'T eVeN bEaT sAtAn" Either bring an actual argument to why demi fiend isn't stronger than lucifer, nevermind, *YHVH* or don't reply.

Good boss fight, but I honestly just hate the soundtrack. Like, honestly I expect to have orchestrated music, something that boost me and makes it more memorable, but this is honestly just forgettable.

The 2nd phase at least sounds benevolent enough for a “final god/demon” fight. Overall though it feels a bit weaker compared to the other SMT/Persona fights with how much weaker this hidden boss is and his magnitude (previous SMT are towering giants).
