Thats true hahahaha I think its because Jisung has an instinctive way of dancing he dances like the music is in him, and tends to add alot of personalised steps when transiting between movements so its hard to follow through his dancing, its like he has his own genre of dancing called Jisung (as expected of main dancer). Jaemin on the other hand really abides by the choreo, his moves are always clear and he really completes through his every move that it can makes us feel satisfyingly complete, he has good isolation, balance in energy and control in posture. Man I really nid to get a life hhahahaha

You know why dream is the superior unit? If you watch all of the focus version uploaded by SM, you will get different vibes of dancing from each member. This is how I see.. 1) Jisung : Main dancer material, sharp knife movements and something abt his facial expressions that makes him look savage 2) Jaemin : He literally has the best control in his body. I mean, he is quite brilliant in using the muscles when he dances? Idk if im using the correct terms. But Jaemin knows where to go hard, and where to slow it down a bit depends on the tempo. And Jaemin is the second best when it comes to details 3) Jeno : his movements are so big that makes him stand out MOST in live performances. I mean, it's something quite relatable tho. You gotta stick ur eyes to someone with THAT energy. Not that the other dreamies dont have energies, but Jeno movements are so big that makes him look more powerful compared to Jisung and Jaemin. 4) Haechan : His focus cam is DAMN eye-catching tho. He gives you this *Yeah Im sexy and you know it* vibes. Haechan may cut off details in some moves but he definitely has THAT charms that makes you think he's the Main dancer in NCT. 5) Mark : hell yeah this boi. Mark is that one in a million person that brings SWAG everywhere he goes. Idk his gestures, his movements, everything he does give you that SWAG feels. And it suits his title as the rapper. 6) Renjun : this boi definitley has that confidence and he gives you that *Flower boy next door* aura whenever he appeared. Plus, dang! His dancing improves to the level that my jaw dropped. Tbh I cant deny that there's something quite awkward in his gestures imo, but this boi works really hard that makes him stand out during his part. Maybe it's because of his lively facial expressions or maybe because he popped quite hard? Seriously, Renjun's popping is 2nd my fav after Jisung lolol. 7) chenle : this dolphin turns into a shark in his focus version lol. Idk how to describe, his dancing is just ALRIGHT and natural. Not the best, but definitely not the WORST too!! Lol there's no awful dancers in Dream unit tho. Ok but Maybe he just lacks power, but it is still not that noticeable if you watch a fancam with all of them. Btw, he gives you a serious model aura. Cause the way he executes the dance are so beautiful and just...ALRIGHT!! Not to forget that he can rock anything simple he wears.

Pearl Jay I almost agreed with your general sentiments until I got to China line. I would never use the word awkward to describe Renjun’s dancing as he seems to be the most natural mover along with Haechan and maybe Mark; he’s also the most meticulous when it comes to details while maintaining a groove. I also kinda feel like you’re not giving Chenle enough credit- he’s really great! Most people who come into this without a dance background tend to overcompensate by overdoing their movements so it’s almost shocking that Chenle is such a relaxed dancer after only being a trainee for 2-3 months (and think about how much of that was just preparing for debut with recording, learning CG choreo, and mastering a hover board rather than actual training)- it takes a lot of confidence, skill and natural talent! I looooove watching him for that reason alone. They really are all very different dancers and it’s such an interesting contrast to see as a dancer myself and fan 😊

Same as you, I agree with most of what op said, though I have a hard time ranking top 3 because they have very dissimilar styles of dance (Jaemin fluid, Jeno powerful, Jisung sharp, three 'J's ftw), and each is more or less pushed as dancer/center (so more or less chances to showcase their dancing), though I don't think the difference in skill is that large. As for Renjun, I think he's also really natural at using his facial expressions if that makes sense ? He's also slowly improving his dancing and has lot of potential (maybe he'll be lead dancer in a futur unit if he continues to grow like that ?). Chenle has improved tremendously over the last two years, so even if he's not as good a dancer as the other members of dream (a unit which is exceptional in performing) he's not far off and blends in without any difficulty.

V.A.L you don't know how many times I've tried to rank Dream in terms of dancing, and NCT as a whole, and have given up because it's too hard lol besides obvious gaps, most of NCT are very equal. And you're spot on about the three J's and I honestly think they could learn a lot from each other; Jeno could use some fluidity, Jisung would benefit from making bigger movements, and Jaemin could be a bit sharper but again, overall they're very balanced! haha I'm sure you can tell I love talking about this

This is so interesting! I just came from Mark's focus and you can easily spot the difference. Mark is sharp as hell all the time and is a great dancer that feels the beat all the time (probably because his position as a rapper) but I didn't rewind or anything. On Jaemin's you notice that Jaemin isn't a really sharp dancer but more of a flowy dancer, but I had to rewind multiple times because when he need to make a sharp move he damn well sets it with 110% and suprises you.
