SMU Ho Rih Hwa Lecture: PM Lee Hsien Loong (Lecture) | 30 June 2015

On 30 June 2015, Mr Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Singapore, was the seventh distinguished speaker of the Ho Rih Hwa Leadership in Asia Lecture Series organised by the Singapore Management University. Addressing a 3,500-strong audience, which included diplomats, public officers, corporate representatives, as well as students and teachers from over 30 institutions, he emphasised that all Singaporeans, not just the Government, have a role to play in tackling the challenges ahead as this will decide whether the country will thrive and survive.

Dear sporean you are lucky to be a sporean. I understand the hardship and stressed living in yr country due to high cost of living. But generally I felt as a small island your country had grown to be a well known financial successful land. I described yr country as such becaused the success that yr country now inherit due to the sacrificed and hard working of yr MR LKY and co. Nt easy to rebuild a poor region in to a rich successful country. And many world leaders seek advice on how to be good governance. So, what is the purpose of these TECHNO-ADVANCEMENT ? So that technology can bury certain men into redundancy. So the techo-work for free...being free, who is benefiting from it & who is affected by it? The %ercentage of TECHNO replacement had to be balance with the %ercentage of skill upgrading & work replacement. ... Seems so - technology had been able to replace menpower more than the availability of alternate job awaiting for the work-redundant men. Or else ,, many men will be suffering for nothing.
