Sorry to ruin your fantasy, but “French Chocolate” is nothing special, it’s just what the name says: a chocolate made in France. If you go to World Market or any international store, you may find some chocolate made in France, which is not usual, because many chocolates found in France are made in Switzerland or Belgium. I come from Paris, France originally and I am sorry to say that chocolate is not especially a French specialty, contrarily to the foie gras for example. However Lancôme was originally a French luxurious brand, now it belongs to a big American/French group. They just chose two words which sound yummy to many people: chocolate (yummy) and French (good food). So next time you eat some good chocolate, check if it was made in France. Big chances that it is not. Of course, if you visit Paris, you will probably find a few artisans who sell their luxurious own chocolates for a very high price. Some of them maybe export their creations? Who knows? Maybe could you ask and you will get your French chocolate by ordering some.
