That's cool that you got an old smudge pot. I just tried designing my own to see if it could be more portable. It ended up leaking fuel...Ha ha. It made for a pretty fun video though. I am already redesigning it so it will be portable and not LEAK! Thanks for sharing. Go Smudge Pots!

We had something similar in the Army to heat tents up in winter. Used JP-8 fuel which is diesel an kerosene mix. Worked well and kept us warm in subzero temps in an old canvas tent.

If you do it right, cooking oil can burn hotter and cleaner believe it or not. Go to a local restaurant and haul back about 100 gallons of oil, filter it if you can, and you'll have some great smelling heat for the winter!.

I've found with straight diesel it burns pretty clean but you only want to put in what your going to burn for the night. Because it will smell like a truck stop if you leave it with fuel in it

You had to mention “global warming”? You do realize the earth is actually getting cooler and will remain so for about 30 years. It’s called science and because of a “solar minimum” we can expect the earth to go through a “mini ice age” so to speak, for the next 30 years or so.
