Had a highschool friend like that. I didn't exactly know his history but I just stumbled upon him in school playing MH3 Portable in the PSP in the school library and we pretty much bonded over that. Anyways, we were playing MH3P during school breaks and lunches, and at times, if its the weekend, I visit his house and we play there all day. I met his mom and I thought it was his sister because of her young looks but I didn't think about it much since I was more or less thinking about the grind in MH3P. Anyways, he had like a "distant" relationship with his mom. Didn't even greet her much when he comes home and the interaction between them is very little. His mom tries her best to interact with him but he mostly just stay quiet around her. He is more talkative to me than his mom. And I pretty much found about on this "distance" is when we were playing in school, some school bullies bullied us both. And those kids extorted him for some pics of his mom. He pretty much punched those guys which led up us going to the principal's office. Turns out, his mom was a gravure model. And most of the time he is getting bullies is because those bullies are trying to get an "exclusive" pictures of his mom. After that, we still played together but he felt distant to me. But I did manage to get to win his trust again by pretty much getting bullied together, but I dunno. Maybe it due to MH3P, or our bruises but we managed to retain that friendship. Sorry to ramble on.

I was the bullied kid (I deserved it - I was a hyperactive spazz) and I can say that society needs more bullying. Societies break apart when there is too much nonconformity, and our education system has been drilling into everyone's head for like 40 years that they're all special snowflakes and that they matter. Bullying is the natural response to nonconformity - it's our society's immune system. Currently, the immune system is targeted incorrectly, like we've got societal GRIDS, but if you eradicate bullying altogether you lose one of the earliest forms of societal policing.

When I was in school it was the complete opposite. It wouldn't be one student doing the bullying either an entire group would beat the kids ass. It was so bad that teachers with children in the school were legitimately worried that every failed grade, every detention given, every time they scolded a student would lead to a beatdown for their kid. I'm not able to confirm this last one as fact but I hear a teacher ended up quitting because a student found out where she lived and killed her dog. The experience at that school is one of the reasons I honestly believe it should be easier to charge children as adults for crimes.

This isn't like she's a garbageman who works with the city. That can be understood as waste control is imperative to society and it's not often a respected field of work, though it should be. Her line of work is nothing more than the sexual gratification of others, which is both degrading and completely superfluous. Its incredibly selfish of her to disregard her child's humiliation. That child is likely going to resent her as they grow up. The sadder part is that the mother likely doesn't really care. She doesn't seem to care enough to consider the damage she caused. It's your job as a parent to help them deal with life's complexities, but to add to that is a failure on her part as a parent. Disgraceful.

The problem is that western culture (at least in the US) is like "We must hide the six from the kids!" while being willing to let them watch actual violence. It is especially evident when you look at how women are treated regarding their bodies versus men. We have laws that punish women for going topless, but men don't get the same punishment. Again, this is limited to like the US pretty much (AFAIK) while much of Europe has a more liberal view on the matter to the point that women are allowed topless at beaches and waterparks in the summer. Especially in France, anywhere along the Mediterranean, and Germany.
@EriaAri9 ай бұрын
@@AltaniNerdAuRa Ok, I'm going to point out the very easy thing that you having a problem with "We have to hide sex from kids" looks bad for you and your argument. But I will actually answer that question for you. The reason is because we, as humans, know that there is a massive difference between things that are viopent and things that are sexual. Violence can be cartoony, it can be goofy in certain contexts. Sex is not capable of being that to anywhere near the same degree. We see this everywhere. Even in places "more liberal" with sex, few though there are, they tend to have an even laxer standard to everything in general. Also, I don't know who told you France is liberal with public nudity. It's one of the most strict countries swimsuits in the West. The only places in France that would allow even a man to wear baggy trunks instead of speedos or compressed swim trunks is private property and any such private property that would allow for women to walk around topless would be areas that, at the very least, do not allow children to be present, as that would be a fast way to shut the business down and/or have the woman be put on the sex offender registry.
@Lampoluke9 ай бұрын
Europe is less retarded (sorry, "liberal") than USA, I don't get the point of the rant? When I was a child I was exposed to cartoony violence and nudity in paintings, as I got older it was more realistic violence and sex, but I was either an adult or almost an adult.

Society could just accept it. And then the trauma would subside. Alot of trauma comes from feeling like something that happened to you is vastly different from the norm and taboo. But without the taboo. It's not as much of a problem. That probably comes with it's own set of societal issues. There is a book by a feminist called J.D. Unwin called "Sex and Culture" that links increasingly permissive attitudes in historical societies with decreasing innovation, motivation and energy in their culture overall. It's pretty well argued and even leftists like Noam Chomsky have referenced it. Not all leftists/feminists are uncritical sex positivists. People tend to forget this nowadays.

I mean, there's been single mothers that strip for money to provide for their children for decades. Kids will bully one another for ANYTHING. Most work is difficult and pays way worse and if you can make much more money for much less strenuous work than I guess. Like Alana said, it's hard to put yourself in those shoes. Even if that mom stopped now, the kid is marked for the rest of his school days. I got bullied for being fat, for being a loner, for having long hair, for being a white mexican, for having a single mom, for my dad being in prison, for having only female friends when I got older. Being homeless with my mom and brother when she's working 2 - 3 jobs trying to feed us and get us to school. She kept her dignity I guess by never doing those kinds of jobs, but we're still mentally defective and miserable even with that so it's not so simple. I can't say "I wish my mother had done that stuff to make money" but if she had chosen that path I would understand at this point as an adult. All the people saying they'd rather be poor make me laugh. It's clear they have no idea what living in real poverty is like if they can so easily choose it.

After a month of the “new ideal school,” her children tried to “go offline from life.” And in the end, the cherry on the cake - All the time after this story exploded, "the mother of the year" believed that she was not to blame for anything and that her “work” had not previously affected the lives of her children.

Why would anyone get bullied for having a parent as a Teacher? If anything, they should be Afraid of causing that kid physical or mental pain, since the Parent would more likely than not, take their own child's side and look Way deeper into the matter to find out what is actually happening. Only downside i can think of is that the kid might end up thinking their parent is taking other kid's sides, which would cause a rift between them, but that'd only be temporarily, they'd grow up and realize They were in the wrong.
