Actually Somin has never been an idol trainee. Jaesuk misunderstood what Somin said only. In one rm episode, Kwangsoo did help clarify Somin only tried to be a faceless singer only when Jaesuk said Somin an idol trainee. In 2019 when Somin guested in Happy Together, Jaesuk again said she wanted to debut as girl group but when another guest asked Somin how many girls in the group, Somin replied there's only her. Then the guests commented she's a balladeer, Somin agreed.

I mean, what's not to love about Somin? She's a good dancer, has comedic timing, she can act, has so many craftsy hobbies like painting and knitting and side gigs like singing and writing. Then add her cute smile, her pretty face, her sexy allure, and pleasant presence all around. If I was someone close to her, I would at least tell her that I like her. Her haters can only say a few things about her (and all are goddamn senseless) while I can talk about her brilliance and beauty all day long. Love the title!! I'm a Song Jihyo hardcore, but I never get annoyed by Somin! Somehow I even feel Jihyo "is helped" by somin and vice versa. Somin have different characters than Jihyo! Just because they are different, that doesn't mean someone try to steal someone spotlight! The fact is their characters are not overlap so that they complete each other!! Jihyo is like an awsome cool girl crush unnie while somin is a bubbly crazy funny maknae. Their combination is perfect! Both are lovable and make us laugh so much in their own way!! After her real lil. brother departure (Kwangsoo), maybe Jihyo will have a "real" lil. sister now. Even, lately, we could see lots of mongdol moments! And for this MongDol Sister, I think, somehow, Somin seriously did a great job by approaching her unnie first (you know like how an adorable little sister will stick like a glue to her super awsome big sister). Fans of Jihyo were so angry with Somin coz according to them, she stole the spotlight from Jihyo. But what they should realize is that she may have had the spotlight, but that came with so much humiliation. Even more than Running Man ever did to Jihyo. Definitely the happy vitamin of RM. I love that she isn't afraid to do all these things (but I do still cringe on her behalf at the sweaty armpits dance in front of her crush LMFAO). She really is so skilled at dancing though 😍 She's an absolute cutie so it makes me laugh when all the other members act like she's an eyesore. Sometimes they can't help themselves but to smile whilst watching her themselves 🥺 (especially her unnie SJH and father in law JSJ hahahaha) She has a great chemistry with every member and many guests at any given moment. I feel that's a testament to what a great addition she has been to the show.
