Originally seen during Kellogg's syndicated sponsorship of "YOGI BEAR" (of which Snagglepuss was a regular feature) during the 1961-'62 season. And Kellogg's DID co-sponsor "WHAT'S MY LINE?" between 1958 and '65.

@rainstarflowerdroplets9624 Snagglepuss also was part of the cast of Yogi's Gang (which was spun off from the Saturday Superstar Movie Yogi's Ark Lark), was one of the announcers (with Mildew Wolf) on Laff-A-Lympics, and was part of the cast of Yogi's Treasure Hunt. All of these shows are currently on Boomerang, though sometimes only once or twice a week instead of every day. And Yogi's Ark Lark and Yogi and the Magical Flight of the Spruce Goose are sometimes shown on Boomerang Theater.

Kind of vapid insulting dialogue for Dorothy though, who was a brilliant intellectual. Although she was known for her writing about Hollywood, hence this dialogue I guess, she was murdered for what she'd uncovered in her Investigative journalism. (She also had by far the highest score for correct guesses after the fewest questions.) Yup, I'm old, but too young for this. Every WML show is on youtube. The charming dapper emcee had been an entrenched WWII battlefield war correspondant.

Everyone in this commercial, sans the announcer....it's Snagglepuss, not Snorkelpuss. You've seen him on TV before and now, he's got his own comic book from DC and is on Jellystone!.

It was a joke. If you were of a certain age, you were in on the joke. It was not done to put down kids nor exault grownups. It was clever and a very good marketing tool. I'm sure it sold a lot of boxes of cereal.
