Rustaq Al Awabi to Snake Canyon: Begin your adventure in Rustaq, located about 150 km from Muscat. Drive towards Wadi Bani Awf (around 1.5-2 hours), where you’ll find the famous Snake Canyon. This area is known for its narrow, winding gorge and crystal-clear pools-perfect for a refreshing dip and an adventurous hike. You'll need a 4x4 to navigate the rough, rocky terrain leading to the canyon.
Snake Canyon to Bald Sayt: After exploring Snake Canyon, drive west towards the village of Bald Sayt, which is about an hour away. The drive will take you through winding mountain roads, showcasing Oman’s rugged landscapes. Bald Sayt is famous for its terraced farming and dramatic mountain views. The village offers a peaceful, picturesque escape with some hiking opportunities.
Bald Sayt to Jabel Hatt: From Bald Sayt, head south to reach Jabel Hatt (roughly a 1.5-hour drive). Jabel Hatt is the highest point in the Hajar Mountains, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and peaks. It's a great spot for photography and a rewarding end to your mountain journey.
This route combines adventure, natural beauty, and traditional Omani culture, all while exploring some of the most stunning landscapes the country has to offer.
