You are at the northeastern portion of South Africa, that is why the environment suddenly looks so green, lively and conducive to life. Nice habitat and the insect sound I heard should probably be cicadas. Nice and unexpected little monitor and green snake. I have never heard of the bark snake before. A different snake. Have you ever come across a cycad? I am looking forward too then but it is only palms.

This was in the north eastern corner of South Africa on the Zimbabwe border. The eastern bark snake also called Mopani snakes, they are locally abundant just difficult to find. See many cycad in the northern parts.

Awesome trip! Love the Bark snake! I did a stint at a bush lodge in Zambia (where I'm from) and for 4 months i was incredibly lucky to see around 3 Bark snakes a week. There were all over, probably seeing some of the same individuals over. Thats memory I'll never forget

they’re such an interesting species! locally abundant but locating then can be tough. That one was the first piece of bark I peeked behind! thanks for watching :)

@@TyronePingHerpingSouthAfrica indeed a very interesting species. Thankfully i didn't have to look hard where the camp was located. Glad the luck was with you and under that first bit of bark! 😁

Crazy amount of butterflies. Bark snake under bark? That's legit. Little dog hanging out with the mambas and cobras. 😬 Can't get over the diversity of snakes and the colors of the lizards down your way. Not to mention the habitat. Another good one.

@@TyronePingHerpingSouthAfrica I feel that vibe, a lot of our clips end up in the archives and never see the light of day. Looking forward to part 2

I always love seeing those sand snakes last time I saw them I Stepped in a large thorn. I live in Pretoria but have never seen any brown house snakes which is sad because I love them.
