I know I'm late to this, but yeah; I remember getting Snake Mountain as a kid. It didn't come with a cage though, but a net that was suspended beneath the trap door. And yes, I remember using the voice distorter wolf head with the mouth on the mountain face. That face was creepy as a kid. I also had the Hordak set, with the puppet you used to reach out from the cave hole, a tree that would grab people and a rock that was used to trap a hero's foot. Man....those were good times. Never got Castle Greyskull though; eh, I didn't mind. I was very fortunate to have what I did. And FIREBALL ISLAND! Oh my god, that game was so amazing!

The commercial for Fireball Island used to get me so excited as a kid! Stealing that giant Red Jewel! Was fuel for the imagination.

This iteration of Snake Mountain definitely looks like the best one! Will have to play the long game on this one, as the funds and space just aren’t there right now. As it is, I still have no idea where Eternia is going, it will most likely be sitting in its box in our garage for a few years. Snake Mountain will probably have to sit in its box at the top of the closet next to Castle Grayskull. I honestly do not remember using the microphone all that often when I was a kid…probably because I was good with voices and often made up my own sound effects that went far beyond what the sound box was capable of producing. So, I really don’t mind that feature not being included. The throne, the removable cage and the acid pit more than make up for it. That pit is such a novel and genius idea! It’s almost as if Mattel specifically designed the modularity of the figures with that feature in mind! 😉 The original play set was admittedly very barebones compared to Grayskull. For 80 bucks, this isn’t too shabby at all!

Even though they don’t look like the regular figures, I always thought the MOTU minimates scaled perfectly with these play sets.

Awesome video. can't wait to get one. I feel like the large green snake needed stickers or paint on the eyes. Probably a good piece to customise if you can paint well.

An amazing playset that blows the original out of the water. My only complaint is a lack of detail on the Snake, you could tell with a paint app it would have looked fantastic. But it might have pushed the cost over a hundred dollars.

I had snake mountain as a kid never was lucky enough to have greyskull and definitely never even saw Eternia until i was an adult.

I never got Snake Mountain as a kid. I only had Castle Greyskull and every vintage figure all the way up to the Snake Men. This is definitely a must buy for me and it definitely has more charisma and stands out more than Greyskull.

The Classics bone throne is the correct size for Origins size figures. I love this design and the upgrades of it, but it's too small for Origins still.

Because of my limited space i go for the mega construx grayskull,and now i want also snake mountain! Also i think the scale with those minifigures goes a little better as a whole! 😊 But i like the big ones origins as well! As i said i prefer the mega construx because of my space! I'm surprised the snake is so heavy, I think they could have made it lighter. I don't like their choice of head for the Road Ripper on the packaging. I think that head is ugly and stupid, they should have used the vintage style. Overall, it's a good, fun set.
