I kept one as a pet when I was a kid on a farm near Rustenburg in South Africa. I couldn't really find any eggs to feed it as it was quite small so I released it.

It's not painful, I think, egg eating snakes are made to do this... though it does seem... well a human wouldn't be able to stretch their mouths, much less their bodies, in such a manner. But snakes? They can tolerate some extension. Egg eaters more so. It's quite amazing to see what superpowers exist to a degree for natural beings. Humans got intelligence of such great capacity, and other animals make due with stuff like, this.
