Well, I'll jump on the aurora bandwagon, stunner. I could smell that slug eater through the screen. No lie. Nice spot on that chameleon in the yellow flowers.

Nice exceptional aurora house snakes. The second one would be even more stunning out of shed. The grass snake is beautiful as well. Most of the time I don’t notice it that much. Also the name creates confusion with the European grass snake, which is semiaquatic. Nice dwarf tortoises and chameleons of course. All those expansive South African grasslands seem perfect ungulate grazing grounds. I imagine impenetrable herds in the past. I don’t know if this situation benefited reptiles though.

Thanks! They’re a great species, funny you mention the area is absent of the large herbivores but some parts is land is grazed by cattle and in the areas where the cattle are is where you get some uncommon frog species which breed in the disturbed land.

If I had a house and a garden in SA and there were lots of house snakes and slug eater snakes and mole snakes, would they attract venomous snakes?

Funny how the camera has a tough time focusing on the chameleon. I guess it's doing a good job blending in!
