DK has such a bizarre history of incredible tracks that seem tonally out of place for their level. This ditty for a boss battle, the serene stickerbush symphony for a terrifying maze of spikes and explosions, etc. Great remix, I throw my hat at you

I think stickerbush was originally written for a water level, at least as far as the internet lore goes, but that's another great tune! I was considering trying to do that one this month, but I ran out of time to do it properly, and I want to make sure I do that one well! Thanks Erik!
What a nice surprise for a Sunday afternoon! The opening made me imagine an RPG town theme; and the rest, of course, kicks in to a fun, folksy jazz!

I decided to post it early since I had the audio ready for the contest deadline last Wednesday, but we can't break anonymity until after the results. I finished the video up after getting back home from some travel and figured it didn't really need to wait until next Friday. 😂

Haha, that story about the nesting Christmas gifts in the description was too cute. Also this rendition is beyond beautiful.

Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked the arrangement, and it was fun to recount that memory with my sister when our families got together for Thanksgiving this year!

Absolutely amazing. Love both sections. I don't have any DK memories, but David Wise is one of the video game composer greats, and Snakey Chantey is one of the most earwormy ones.

He's written so much great music in games! I almost went off the beaten path for a more Asian-inspired OST using the koto but I ran out of time this month 😂

Such layers done so professionally ^_^ . Nintendo could def use this as a easter egg cameo on a Zelda game like they used to do with the music in their games :), Loved it

Thanks Blackheart! I'm glad people seem to be liking this one! I was worried about breaking from the Chrono streak and losing people from changing franchises.

DKC2 is one of my absolute favorite gaming soundtracks, alongside FFIX, FFX, and LOZOoT. I hope you transform some more of the melodies from this game: The Mines, The Haunted Forest, The Brambles, The Ice Cavern, and the Sunken Ship songs are my favorite

Those are all amazing soundtracks! I have a bunch on my list from all of those, and I'd love to do some more from David Wise as well. I think so far I have done "not alone" ff9, to zanarkand FFX, lost woods, lullaby and gerudo from oot
