just get someone who knows what their assignment is. The problem isn't usually someone getting overrun but just not finding who they need to block. I would rather have someone that at least gets in position even if he has issues holding his own. I've seen in other non OSU games where a backup olinemen had to come in and did fine.

Luke and the Armstrong twins at this point should be ready to play including Josh Padilla. Playing this late into the year now means you're grown and aren't a young pup anymore. They committed and held Frye in higher regard when Michigan was coming for all our linemen a couple of years ago in Ohio. If anything Luke should be ready to step up and anchor this line.

I'm kind of on the opinion of Birm- I don't think you need to expect 3-4 star offensive linemen recruits to be ready to play year 1. Sure, it's great if some true freshman are ready to play year 1, but I don't think it needs to be an expectation... I'm not trying to absolve Justin Frye and staff for the struggles though. Tegra needed to be more ready. Need a jump from Luke Montgomery. Also, they had no 3rd tackle ready. Hasn't recruited the room well enough as well. Just don't expect Padilla and Armstrong twins to be ready- Clearly they are not, and it's too early to give up on them, methinks

I have listened to this podcast most of the year and at times have enjoyed coverage. But it is painful to listen to Austin Ward tell Ryan Day and Chip Kelly how to coach. What authority does he have to speak on the matter. He is not at practice. He does not understand challenges on line due to injuries. For to imply we have played one way all year which was poor and if we would have played more uptempo, loose or whatever he wants to call it, everything would be different. We lost to the #1 team in the country at their place on a bogus PI call. We beat 2 top 5 teams. We played poorly against rival and still were field goal short of winning. We are in the playoffs hosting a game. I am certain that neither the coaches and players listen to any of Austin’s negative comments but if they did I hope they would never answer any of his silly questions. And finally, being confused by Ryan Day comments on OL. Do you think Ryan Day needs to tell you exactly personnel and position before the game. What a joke.
