@@Kudapex bro if I ever see a mechanic that has tools that clean I would never second guess any work they did to my car. I’m the same way with my toolbox. Everything is as clean as can be and oiled. You are appreciated by people you don’t even know. Forget the guys that say otherwise.
@garth3743
@garth3743 5 ай бұрын
Total noob question, but how do you clean your tools? I didn't even know that was a thing until these comments. Soap water then some kind of oil? Annual maintenance schedule?
@TheMeneltarma
@TheMeneltarma 5 ай бұрын
@@garth3743 I use Dawn Platinum 4x dish soap with a soft brush and rag. Dawn does a great job of removing old oil and grime. Just be sure to throughly dry your tools and apply new grease if necessary. I clean my tools once every 6 months or so. It largely depends on how often you use your tools and how dirty they get. I take apart my ratchets every 3-5 years, clean them, and apply new grease. You might need to do this more frequently or less frequently depending how much you use your tools and how clean you want them. It sure is nice starting a new job with perfectly clean tools. :) Hope this helps.

I’ve been a mechanic for over 40yrs. I’m also a Snap-On fan boy! I bet you get the haters telling you that you got ripped off by buying Snap-On? These are the same guys that get into a 100K+ pick-up truck at the end of the day. My tool box starts with a Mac 1700/w side box that I bought new in 1987. Then I needed more room. I would have loved to move up to a beautiful Snap-On box like yours. I had to make a choice? Do I want a super nice box that would live its life 1/4 full or an overseas box that is 85% full. I ended up getting a eXtreem tools box. I got the biggest set they had. 72in top and bottom. I need a stool to get to the highest drawers. Your tools and box are amazing. Just don’t put yourself in to much dept. To say I’m jealous is an understatement! What is the depth measurement on that box? One draw you pulled out looked to be deeper than it is wide?

Nice love the color love the set up my only question and it’s personal but I’m asking with good intentions … What the hutch run you on top of the box I bought my 68” epiq for 9k and the thing holding me back is the extra several thousand to buy the hutch. Paying 50 a week for my box was too low so I upped it to 100/wk but by doing so can’t afford the hutch/work center because it’s so much debt via snap on as I was told by my rep
@Kudapex
@Kudapex Жыл бұрын
I actually purchased the entire box together when the Rock n Roll truck came by. They tend to offer the best deals. I got a discount on the box and locker, and they threw the workcenter in for free. I borrowed from the bank to avoid Snap-ons crazy interest rates. Might be something worth looking into. I used Snap on credit to get the deal and rebates, then paid it off immediately with money from the bank. Owing the bank is much more flexible.

Tools I use Wypall Cleaning Wipes. The box I really like Adam’s CS3. Both keep everything looking nice and new!

How long did it take u to squire everything? And how did u decide on what to buy
@Kudapex
@Kudapex Жыл бұрын
I acquired everything over the course of about 10 years. I’ve always tried to buy when the tool was on sale or promo. Basically just kept buying as I discovered what I needed for certain jobs.

Which camera head size and cable length would you recommend? I'm looking at getting one very soon. I'm also a BMW tech, if that helps narrow it down.
