For those venturing out for the Roar, keep in mind that in the New Zealand back country - months worth of training, planning and preparation can come undone within the space of a single footstep. Dave's buggered ankle is going to make for an interesting few weeks for us here at the show, here's hoping it's the first and last evac we'll ever need...

Done something similar getting water from a creek when we got to a hut. Came right after 2 days parked up in the hut while my mate hunted unsuccessfully in the rain. Dejected he sat out the morning i went out and I shot a deer 300m from the hut 😅😂😂

Healing up nicely at this stage, got another 13 days before we begin climbing into Fiordland, but have a relatively easy West Coast ballot hunt before now and then to really test it out.
