Neat! What is this deck's plan against combo like Tron Altar , Poison Storm and Goblin? Without graveyard hate in the side and no reliable ways to interrupt Tron's combo it seems to me it'd be dead in the water against them!

Altar Tron is definitely tough. I guess there we wildfire them and hope they stumble. At least against goblins we have strands which can make it tough for them. If you wanted better match ups against those decks a few relics in the side would help but since this deck can’t win that fast the combo match ups will be difficult

I'm gonna give this deck one more chance, played it in autumn and I've not felt the best sensations out of it, maybe the important presence of Tron in the metagame rn can improve the upsides of playing Wildfire, even though we're still pretty weak to artifact hate... Hope so cause I love this combination of colours and cards

we're not that weak to artifact hate. Are you talking about getting hit by Dust to Dust? if they blow up a land or two, you can recover with this deck.

@@SnapBolt yeah, + Revoke Existence, the problem is when you have those kind of hands that force you to play immediately artifact lands. But you're definitely right on your point

@@marcoceredi80 yea, you’re right too. It can definitely cost you games when you have multiple bridge hands you have to keep and get Dust to Dusted but that’s a weakness or a cleansing wildfire deck and I’ve found it comes up infrequently

Thanks, I was just trying out the flame slash this time. I thought that having some spell to kill myr enforcer and other creatures that we could recur with ardent elementalist would be good but I’d rather have another bolt too

Hi there, Max! Love and greetings from Argentina 💙🤍💙. I’m gonna play this in paper in our local tournament (lots of black gardens, some jeskai and orzhov ephemerate and burns). What do you think of splashing in the sideboard?? Green for weather, black for fangs/arms of adar, blue for kenku? Or no splashing at all...? 🤔

Sounds like a tough meta for boros. I think no splash is the best overall - at least into an open field. Sounds like you may need more value, could consider green for green imitative creature and weather sideboard or blue for Mully D main and hydro sideboard. Not sure honesty The mana is already bad though so be wary!

Is faithless looting the only way to get Prismatic Strands into the graveyard? You might consider adding Raffine's Informant

It is, or discarding to hand size. I was fine hard casting strands most of the time. People seem to really love informant but I don’t love adding that card to my decks. It’s been decent for me, but medium overall. I prefer spirited companion generally

Sshouldn't all your bridges be ones that tap for Red? Like if your opening hand is Razortide Bridge, Cleansing Wildfire, Plains you'd feel silly...

perhaps, but I wanted a reasonable number of untapped red sources as well. so if you cut razortide, and add a red bridge, you would also want to switch a mountain for another plains.

I wonder if the clock should be per game instead of per match. I'm sure there's a good reason to keep it as is but it feels weird how sometimes players are incentivized to prolong already decided games with the intention of having a time advantage in the next games.

Interesting idea. While that situation can come up, especially in pauper, it’s not that common. And if a game is really locked up, the losing player can always concede and move on to the next game. For example, if you are ahead in a long game one and intentionally choose not to close it it’s a big risk. If something goes wrong and you loose, you still have win the next two with even less time

@@SnapBolt true! But I think it's quite common that a player is 100% lost and they keep playing to make their opponent use their time.

@@tornadoeye oh oh, I see. That is absolutely true. You have little to no chance to win, but you keep playing to make an opponent use their clock - that happens all the time. Let me say this then - is that wrong? Shouldn’t a player be able to finish a game in a reasonable amount of time? If you can’t close a game out and it takes you a majority of your clock, maybe you need to construct your deck differently.

@1:14:00 Maybe you talked about it in the stream, but didn't see it mentioned here in the video. I think opponent kept a dust to dust and got stuck. I've seen it myself playing this deck. People expect dust to dust to hose the deck and it just doesn't. So I feel like opp scooped due to unplayable dusts

Maybe, but they also just got stuck on three lands AND didn't have black mana. They got pretty unlucky even if they had dead Dust to Dusts in hand.

Have you ever toyed with the idea of using the black/red bridge and having Cast Down? Or do you think they deck is OK without hard removal?

we have 'hard' removal in two journey to nowhere. I don't think cast down is necessarily worth the splash. The biggest weakness of this deck is already the inconsistent mana.

Gotcha. I would be playing in paper. Might take some practice. I've been wanting to make an Ephemerate deck and I like this one. I had an idea for a black devotion deck splashing for Ephemerate, but it would probably be horrible.
