Very common problem and potentially very costly (on the Azera the unit cost twice as much as on Sonata). We got a warning light and the blind spot detection system went inoperative. Hyundai confirmed left rear radar sensor unit defective - $800 for the part alone (the bumper cover needs removed). After reading on forums, this is a very common problem. Hyundai may try to recalibrate the sensor, but what I found is it is possible if someone is bumping your rear bumper - such as in a parking spot - or if you hit a larger pothole, the sensor may move just slightly in its bracket, and the car will detect it as out of calibration so the dealer will say we can't calibrate it, we have to replace it, even if the sensor is intact. They will try to blame you hit the car and knocked off the sensor. I removed the rear outer light unit - see my channel how to do this safely - and reached the sensor with my fingers and just moved it a little then had Hyundai recalibrate it and the error message was gone. Perhaps the brackets are not strong enough and allow the sensor to move even just slightly which throws it out of calibration (these sensors needs to have a certain alignment so they can work properly). kzbin.info/aero/PLl-l6yge4ast930y0wMiD9IIlDUy1mPFS

I got a small abrasion on right side rear bumper 2020 Hyundai Elantra sel, that triggered dashboard self check on blind spot sensor. Took it to back yard mechanic just for calibration if that triangle with exclamation mark on dashboard would disappear. It worked for a little while then warning lightt came back on. Mechanic says probably sensor is damaged and needs to be replaced. Thanks for the video

Hello there, I have 2017 Sonata with the same problem. worked for 30 minutes after recalibration and then stopped working again with massage on screen "Check BSD System". What should I do please?

Having same error “check bsd system” and my tucson is brand new..brought back and forth at hyundai which they keep on re-calibrating but to no luck. Hope you guys can shed light and if you got you’re error fixed. Desperately getting solutions to resolve

Where are the BSMs mounted-on the body or in the bumper cover of this car? If the BSMs are mounted on the body of any Hyundai product the bumper cover needs to be removed for calibration. And sometimes physical adjustments of a BSM bracket is necessary.

Have 2014 Hyundai Equus. Bought it new and Hyundai has never been able to fix the BSD system. BSD System shuts off and says CHECK BSD SYSTEM after the car is driven a while. Once I stop and the car sits a while the BSD will start working again.

This system is bad for Hyundai and Kia, when you reset, in some few period it come back just like Ali said
