First time watching your channel, great content. I completely agree about fishing that bit heavier, all good until that pb or fish of a lifetime comes along. That said light tackle stuff is great fun. Thanks for being so descriptive and showing your favourite lure., your a champion,.

Hi Dave. How do you get around getting heaps of Sergeant Baker and Red Rock fish. I get so tired of getting those and have few snapper hook ups.
@aussfish9995 Жыл бұрын
Well mate for a start your lure is spending a bit to much time flicking around right on the bottom and they will get you straight away. It’s also a good indication your fishing right on top of really hard reef. Try to find some broken mixed ground move to the edges. You could fishing a bit heavy on the jig not allowing enough hand time. Try lighting up a little just throw it out and let it sink just before it hits the bottom wind it in and try again you may have to count it down then subtract about 5 to 10 seconds and repeat good snapper will be up a bit in the water column tight lines Dave

Love your channel. Been trying the trolling deep divers technique with success! Have a question though, do you have many issues with snapper taking you right into the rocks while trolling? I have the lures out pretty far back which I feel increases the bite rate but then the angles are in the snapper's favour to bust you off. Any tips? Thanks!
@aussfish99952 жыл бұрын
Hey Tony, to combat that I just troll with 1 rod out when I’m on my own, if I hit a big fish I slow come around with the boat and make every attempt to get over the fish as soon as I can. You will see me do that on some of my videos. Where are you located what lures have you had success on do you have a KZbin channel tight lines Dave
@tonypopic85702 жыл бұрын
@@aussfish9995 thanks, yes I did see you come round on the boat. I'm on a kayak so won't be able to do that very effectively but I'll continue to experiment also have the lures closer in depending on depth of water. I'm in the Illawarra area, to tell you the truth just started trying this method and they have been taking anything that swims in the strike zone. No channel sorry!

Is there a reason you rig the prawn upside down?
@aussfish9995 Жыл бұрын
I think I got used to that with Snapper fishing with Gulp Prawns the hook for some reason rips out less and does the least amount of damage upside down. When gulp prawns get ripped you can rig them head up head down and even side ways the fish just don’t seem to care.

@aussfish99954 жыл бұрын
Just watch that braid the second it touches the bottom if you have not been hit start working that rod. The Snapper will be off the bottom sometimes they will be 20 to 30 feet off the bottom on daylight and just before dark

I been watching you fishing offshore in open waters. What i am not seeing you wearing is any type of life JACKET fishing alone does require you to wear a life jacket. Think of the amount of younger kids who may be watching your KZbin as well. Safety is very important to teach others as well.
