You PRECISELY explained and shown the why and how of the snapping tool. After hours and days of trying to get it to snap (align properly) YOU gave me the exact information with little preamble and great clarity. I would have subscribed to your channel anyhow. But for I've kvetched on FB about my difficulties, so I will share this KZbin video as evidence for how it's done. THANK YOU.

Thank you thank you. This tip is invaluable. Had so much trouble making repeat patterns until I saw your video. Lots of happy dancing today!

You are my hero!!!!!! This has been driving me nuts. I wish they would naturally do this better on its own. So thankful to you for pointing out these things. I knew I was having issues not lining it up correctly but I didn’t realize I was probably nudging it when I was done. I think I know what I was doing now. Love this solution. Bless you lol

Can you snap to the grid lines? I have not been able to do that despite changing the velocity and distance…

Hi. Thank you for the video. Can you explain the yellow handle that comes up when using the new snapping function?

The yellow is generally the middle!

THANK YOU!!! I’ve been trying to get the snap to work with the entered numbers, and it never does. I always end up with my squares off by one or two pixels, and couldn’t understand how it was happening. It was because I was nudging it when I was trying to tap away. It’s been driving me mad. Thanks so much for helping me figure it out!

Thank you SO MUCH Addie, that was brilliant!! I didn’t understand what ‘distance’ meant so had it turned right down so consequently it was being incredibly hard to get it right. Thank you again, so helpful.

Thank you. I'm considering buying an iPad and nearly every video that I watch, it's the 12.9" iPad Pro that's being used....I know it's more expensive - but at least it'll last me many years and I'm sure I won't 'out grow' it x

I’m trying to add a fifth tile centered on the canvas to look like a half drop repeat. Can I use the bounding box nodes to do that?
@evelynwald91323 жыл бұрын
That was very helpful for when you want to align to the edges. When I have 2 objects and I want to place them next to one another, what happens to me is that after I get the 2nd object where I want it to be, the moment I lift my pencil off the tablet, the object will move a tiny bit. If this has ever occurred for you, have you found a solution? Thanks so much, love your videos.

Hi Addie, Very good addition with the 5x. But I stil have an issue. The pattern is seamless within the canvas. But if I export the file as jpeg/PNG or tiff I always get a tiny outline/border that comes along. So then if you want to put it on spoonflower or something...the complete tile is not seamless. Procreate team answers that the outline is just a UX border and dissapears when exporting the file...in every format. How do you export your patterns in Procreate 5? Thanks Ines

Hi Addie, I love following along with your tutorials but I’m stuck there. I can’t find the inspiration to create my own pieces. I was wondering, maybe you could cover this in another video as I’m sure there are a lot of people in the same situation.. do you have a certain thought process when creating, or how do you plan it? Like do you have a certain image in your mind you want to recreate or do you just put ‘pencil to iPad’ and wing it? Is it difficult for me because I lack creativity or just haven’t found a workflow? Thank you 🙏🏼

Hi Brienna, I am so sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I am definitely planning to do a video on this because it's SUCH a good question! It's also 100% something I struggle with, and I suspect everyone does to some degree! I'm not totally sure when I'll get the video done, but I wanted to give you some quick thoughts in the meantime: I don't think it's a lack of creativity that causes it, but rather, a struggle to channel your creativity into this format, if that makes sense. Something I know I experience is kind of burnout/art block, and it's often when I'm putting too much pressure on myself to make something Good. But I read a really awesome quote in a book recently - that everyone has thousands of ugly sketches to get out of their systems! So the best thing to do is just practice, and get some of those ugly ones out of your system ;) As far as how to fuel your creativity, here's some things you can try: - Often, the lack of restrictions that an empty page give is overwhelming. So how can you impose your own restrictions? - Start with color. Restrict your color palette to three or four unexpected colors that get you excited - Look for drawing prompts, and brainstorm ways that you can make them yours. Procreate does a weekly prompt series, called Art Mash. Rather than just literally drawing the prompts, sit down and write down different concepts or ideas based off the prompts. - Is there something you're avoiding learning to draw? Can you try to draw that, exclusively, for a week? This could be hands, expressions, cats, peonies, teacups, etc! - Is there something that you're super comfortable drawing? Can you find a new twist to make it more unique? This could be - making it CUTER, mashing it with the thing you're intimated to try drawing, drawing it in a new style or medium, or from a new angle. Hope this helps some - let me know!

Okay, I did some googling and here's something you can try: Go to Settings (the ipad app) /Accessibility/Keyboards and turn OFF Full Keyboard Access. Let me know if this works?
