Doomsday always was one of the greatest final levels to any game in creation. Can anyone else remember that first time they collected all the emeralds and beat the last boss... you put your controller down for the credits, and suddenly doomsday zone is dropped in your lap and you had to grab the controller back up and enjoy one of the best levels in any game.

The simplicity of it is what makes it. It gives the same atmosphere of what the original Doomsday Zone had; hectic, energetic, and a tad dark. The whole S3&K had that entire feel about it. It was a typical Sonic game for its time; colorful, bright, happy, but there was always something more to it. S3&K had a darker side to it, and I (along with the majority according to the like/dislike bar) feel this remix fits perfectly.

We all know this song from SMBZ (except maybe a very small minority) for how it represents the frantic pace and intensity of the battle and Semi-Super Mecha Sonic. But no one gives this song credit for the fact it does a complete 180 and goes from desperate and frenetic to heroic. I'm wondering if this will be used later in the series, maybe at a point when a battle against Metallix turns in the favor of the Heroes.

I totally agree with you in a sense that a true fan doesn't need to get everything Sonic related to be a major fan of the blue hedgehog. I for one have the comics myself, not because I HAVE to have them, but for the art and just having another story to follow the team in. I'll always stick with the originals forever. I LUVED the night stages. I'm obsessed with brawling in a game. I'm insane about God of War and the werehog levels were exactly like that. It sucks that nobody else feels that way about it: slow motion finishers, reaction commands, pretty massive combos if you actually took the time to learn them...I liked it.
