Mayor on Owning 3,000 Pairs of Kicks Worth $750k

www.sneakerwatch.com/ - In a discussion on one of the best sneaker collections in NY, and possibly in the world, Mayor is definitely one of the sneakerheads who should be mentioned. Years ago we took a tour of Mayor's collection where he said he owned about 2,600 pairs, and since then it's grown by quite a bit. Catching up on Mayor's sneaker closet, we decided to take a tour around his closet to see what new heat Mayor had acquired since then, and his thoughts on the current market for sneakers.
Surprised to hear how much Mayor's sneakers are worth collectively, he told us how his current additions to his closet made his sneaker collection jump by nearly $300,000. Amongst thousands of pairs, we got his thoughts on Kanye's adidas sneakers, and why he thought Ye was having so much success in the industry compared to all of the other artists.

I feel him,but Jordan brand is still pushing out shoes with bull shit material. The only Jordans this year that were "remastered " were the oreo`s and the Columbia 4's,some of the other jordans were ok,and some were fucked! Like the Barcelona 7's the paint job on those were horrible. If a shoe is going to cost 200$ the materials,and the paint job needs to be on point all the time,not half the time.

Now if you look at what Jordan Brand was selling last year the materials were far worse than this year, so to say that the materials are no different is showing that you have no way of proving with pairs of your own. The leather of the past few years was hard and was did not even feel like leather the suede and nubuck was not as good it is a different product this year period! Execution and assembly is where there has been the least change, glue marks and sloppy paint jobs are consist and this will continue to be the case for general release products when you are talking about a mass produced product made by people recieving little to no pay.

Since nike and Jordan raised there price point being able to sleep I'm go down to your local mall and get the latest Jordan in your size with no hassle is happening a bit more nowadays. For example if I wanted them I coulda got the last few Jordan releases in my size with no hassle like the French blue 7, Melvin the Martian 7, laser 1, metallic 5's, just to name a few but decided not too because those aren't the Jays I want in my collection. I want quality over quantity because if you go out and buy kicks as often as they come out mayor is right you will go broke REAL quick, which is why I have seriously slowed down on my collecting and going after what I like, like the Jeter 1 or slam dunk 6's more than just buying a kick just to have it.
