I think a big part of the toxicity is just how LONG the games are. If you only have like an hour or two a day to play (fairly normal) one bad long game can completely ruin your entire game time.

@@EvelynVash yea so how does the game ending in 7 mins make a difference than the game ending in 15. when ur still getting you ass flamed for the entire duration. It still feels terrible make you not wanna play at all. Also if the game goes long its more winnable and it feels better if you win in the end. The point is that the game length plays no part to the toxicity of people and people being toxic in general is a bad experience not even limited by whatever time limit you have, not really what drives people away.

bro, there is really only 4 adcs that are being played in pro, counting every region (i checked). the rest is just barely viable (cait - perma banned, jinx - pick or ban, aphelios - pick or ban, sometimes jhin/ezreal (ezreal for fun i guess xD). is riot really ok with that?

yeah, with other roles it's pretty much the same if it comes to pick rate (except maybe toplane). but the reason is *imo* different. with adcs it's just the fact that these 4 adcs are better than others, pretty much. i wouldn't say that with other roles (except viktor and corki). i think with other roles some champs are so popular just because they will always be really viable in competitive and it's gonna be hard to change that, ever. twisted fate is the perfect example (almost 100% every region, just like cait). but also lee sin (~90%) thresh (~85%) leblanc (~85%) Jayce (~60%)

IDK If Sneaky actually reads comments. But there was a discussion about CC in this video, and I'm curious because I know Sneaky plays WoW. Should League have DR on cc just like WoW does? It would fundamentally change the game, but there's nothing more frustrating than being cc-chained for 8 seconds.

The heavy reliance on teammates is what makes league SO toxic. Valorant had toxicity, but one person can solo carry away easier. Another good example of toxicity like LoL is in Rocket League. That's way toxic too.

I think league is more toxic because one person getting angry and typing makes a game almost impossible to win even if you're winning because then not only is that one guy not playing but then everyone else isn't focused on the game or working together and then even if you're winning it feels miserable.

re: the /all chat removal discussion, the reason that's a dumb idea is because like 95% of the toxicity is directed at their own team. I think having team-wide VC would do more to discourage toxicity than banning all-chat; it's WAY harder to get abusive to someone's face than behind the keyboard, and even when someone does tilt in VC and starts being a dick, they tend to be way less toxic if they're saying that shit out loud.

You haven't played COD on XBox Live, have you? Voice comms do not reduce toxicity with randoms in a public lobby. There's a reason there's a mute option. You can simply choose to ignore all of it/never experience it.
