Police pulled my brother over(who was already scared of driving at the time) on his way home from work because his light was out. He’s freaking out because he’s never gotten pulled over before. He gets home tells my mom it needs to be replaced, they go out to look at it and it’s perfectly fine. They pulled him over for no reason and scared an innocent kid just trying to go home from work and didn’t even have the decency to tell him the truth, acted like he did something wrong.

I desperately need you to understand how finicky headlights are, my mom asked me to fix her brake light the other day because "it wouldn't turn off" her and 3 of her coworkers affirmed that they saw it staying on. i am going to be honest, I am 13 minutes into this video and it looks like it *SHOULD* just be a cut-and-dry case of "the cops went in and talked with a lady with dementia and her son, accidentally shot a round into the ground, they talked and it got filed into a report, maybe paying for damages" and that should be it! But this video is almost another TWO HOURS LONG!! I'm scared to see what's about to happen to make this worse! Update: YEESH

Maybe he’s saying village because that’s what’s on the official paperwork? I’ve never heard any cops refer to my village as “the village,” only by its name or as part of the nearest town though so maybe it’s a specific part of the state.

23:04 Yeah, they only give you 10 days. A few years back I had my car stolen and then totaled in a high speed chase, so the police had it towed to the tow company across town that they're partnered with. And after I had my mode of travel stolen and destroyed, I was then left with a $300+ fee I'd have to pay on the police's behalf for having my vehicle towed there. I had to pay this BEFORE I was allowed to take my car off the lot where I'd have to get ANOTHER tow to take the car somewhere and assess the car for my shit insurance I could already barely afford. On top of all of that, the tow company had additional fees of $40 per day the car was in their lot of "lot insurance" in case the car was damaged in their care. So I'm left without my vehicle and having to pay for ubers to get to/from work since I work odd hours, already tight on money because of the paycheck to paycheck lifestyle, the lot fee climbing by the day as I'm trying to figure out how the fuck to get my wrecked car out of the tow lot with only 10 days to get this shit figured out or else they were gonna have my car junked. Ultimately got it taken care of thanks to a family friend lending a hand, but that was probably the most stressful 10 days of my life.

@@lucarionite6538 I think it's to do with using unnecessary force as self-defense. You're only legally allowed to use the same force your assailant does, and maybe the court will allow you a little more, but an unarmed burglar breaking into your house and then getting shot is unnecessary force. In the US, i think there's three systems of dealing with breaking and entering, dependent on the state (Duty to Retreat, Castle something something, and the full right to shoot the burglar)

not surprised because he's a cop, but scrapping cars that have been impounded for 10 days is literally so evil. I'm poor as shit, like can barely afford to keep the fridge stocked poor, so i wouldn't be able to get my car back within those 10 days and it'd be fucking gone. even thinking about it is super upsetting, because as it stands, my car has been functionally useless and unable to start for the past 6 months, so it's sitting in my driveway just collecting spiderwebs. it's my late uncle's car, too. a little gray '04 malibu that he and my aunt have had since '04, and I was given it after his death in 2020 because I couldn't afford my own car. I'm so emotionally attached to this rust magnet that I get upset because I can't drive it right now, I can't imagine how devastated I would be if some loser scrapped it because I couldn't afford to get it out of impound.

I believe it's referencing the Uvalde school shooting, where there were many police officers who stood outside the school not doing anything, and they even stopped parents from trying to get into the school and do something. Eventually they went inside, but everyone still inside was already dead, including the shooter. It was awful, and many people are rightfully blaming the police for doing nothing while children were being murdered.

I know I'm a year late with this message but I have to respond. I live across the river from St Louis in Illinois. Our town is called a village and most of them around here are. As a side note, we also call the last meal of the day supper, haha. Thanks for the video, God bless.

"Just to remind you, this guy never would have been in trouble if he didn't get caught doing something wrong. They never would have investigated him if they never had probable cause or reasonable suspicion. God, police are so corrupt." Brilliant commentary.

My brother was having a breakdown one time after we both finished work. I told him to let me drive him home because I didn’t think it was safe for him to drive himself. He agreed but was adamant he would drive his car home anyways. He got in my car because I told him we can drive around and talk. We where driving around a parking lot when a cop pulled me over and started yelling at us both claiming that I almost hit him (I wasn’t even close to him.) we both where sobbing and it was so obvious that something was clearly going on but he just screamed at us and then left. I remember being so fucking angry for the blatant disregard in the situation exhibited by the cop. Not once an “are you ok?” “Why are you both crying?” “Do you need any help?” He was so caught up on “almost being hit” that he was fucking oblivious. It’s scary to think people like that are cops.

Hhhh it bothers my how little help the police have been, even in small towns like mine. I remember when somebody was trying to break into our house, they were slamming on our front door and almost busted it off the hinges and we called the police. It was just my mom, myself, and the babies, and we didn't have a weapon in the house but we told the person that we did. Dude ended up leaving at some point, probably thinking that the cops were on their way. Not because the cops actually showed up. What they DID do was drive right past our house. Didn't ever stop or make contact with us or set foot on the property, didn't get out of the car. And they didn't find the guy. They literally just. Drove right on by.
