I beat this game, while playing it through an emulator and even though I did not know the value at the time. I could tell that it was a special game inside its genre, these beat em ups and swordplay beat em ups are highly sought after. I just sold an extra copy of "Pirates Of Dark Waters" on the SNES for 75$ and I paid 75 cents for it about 10 years ago LOL. It is funny how things go in the life of a collector. I was sure glad I picked up that extra copy at that pawnshop, even though I already had one at the time.

This snes conversion is damm good compared to the arcade version, the music is just what you can expect from a standard snes game with typicall trumpet like instruments wich is okey, however many sound effects are missing and/or shortened and scratchy wich is sad but otherthen that, this is damm good.

This was one my favorites on the SNES. Great music, very stylish art. A fun title. I wonder why this hasn't landed on Nintendo's Virtual Console? There are so many great titles like this one missing. Licensing, probably. You play this one very well and demonstrate winning tricks. Nice work, and thanks for sharing! ^^

As child my brother download this game on my emulator we use to played it alot together back in those days.We only past four levels: level one village,level two field, level three castle, and the party festival level four.In my later years when growing up I was able to process thought all the levels and played with arthur or lancelot thought out my own game play until the ending but on the other hand thank you for bringing back my good old memories capcom, konami and other old famous video game companies where good at making cool games back in the golden ages. I like this game. While I have the original arcade version on the Capcom Classics Collection Volume 2 disc for my PS2, I really do enjoy the SNES version of this as well. And I must admit that the music sounds just as good as the arcade version.

In my opinion in this game Sir Lancelot is the most boring character but easy for winning. Arthur the King, of course, is the most charismatic character. Sir Perceval is the most powerful and enjoyable for playing. Because he has extraordinary features such as running, back - rolling. If you could played with him properly, you would play well. Most people played with Lancelot but I usually preferred sir Perceval to play.

One of those games on the SNES that is too expensive for it's own good, but is good. Arcade version plays faster as usual with these Capcom beat em ups, but the fun is still retained.

Gawain Deals can still be had save for certain titles (like this one), sadly with retro being in these days, it has attracted the sharks to the blood in the water. It has also closed off the market to those who don't have a ton of disposable income. And some people want that short nostalgia burst, so they pay through the nose for a game, enabling these resellers to stay in business.

it is impossible to block like that in SNES. And it depends on the version of game (ROM). The 3rd boss, The Hammer Balbars, when he grabs you, it count as 2 hits, so you have to count the blocking very very precise. You cannot achieve like this video in real life.

They should have had Arthur as the strong one, Lancelot as the balanced one, & Guinevere as the fast one. Remember, he was the only one strong enough to pull excaliber from the rock (Arthur). Also, it would be cool to play as a magic-user, like Merlin.

My huge childhood memory was this game because the Sega Genesis was my very first console I got and this game me and my cousin played this game every day he would pick Lancelot and I would pick Perceval at first because I always liked being brute strength in video games but back in the day his favorite color was blue and mines was red (later changed to orange) so I played with Arthur but played with Perceval when I was solo or with another cousin playing this lol

i guess egameboss forgot that all the late 80's ealy 90's arcade were side scroller beat em ups. double dragon, sunset riders, golden axe, dungeons and dragons, captain capcom, captain america, spiderman, x-men, the simpsons, turtles, final fight, aliens, aliens vs predator, this, another knight/dragon game, and the list goes on and on. they are all different and the same. who cares they provide hours of countless fun.

I find it funny not only how aimless the plot is despite it being about Arthur and his Knights trying to find the Holy Grail but how there are only three playable characters: the king and Lancelot and Percival. Like, you really couldn't have included others like Gawain and Bors and Lamarak? Even the Moynty Python film had a greater number.

Tayzor Azul Yes, you get more points, among other things. From an article about this game: "There were two advantages to this; first, the total point value of the treasure is higher if broken down. Second, all breakable treasure has a small chance of either yielding significantly more points, or even provide rare power ups such as level up sceptres, red or green bombs, or extra lives. The only breakable object which has the risk of yielding less than its unbroken version is the fruit platter, which sometimes breaks down into a single apple (as opposed to the regular four fruits). "
