Probably because Telenet has been defunct since 2007. So it's practically considered lost media. It's a shame, as the gameplay and aesthetics are really, really good. I loved playing this back in the day. Really, it's just as good, if not better than Hagane IMO.

Can anyone provide a translation for the "story"?

A simple Google search said this: "Edo no Kiba" = "Always moving forward", also says "Fang of Tokyo" in another place. "Story- You play as an armored samurai cop with a plasma sword out to take down a cyborg ninja clan in future Japan. The armored samurai cop travels all around Japan to take out the ninjas and the story takes a turn from weird straight into insane territory when it turns out that the ghost of Buddha is one of the ninja clan's leaders. Also, The T-1000 is in here for some reason. Most of the story is in Japanese, so I have a limited understanding of it, but just from reading what I can and watching as the story progresses, I can tell that “normal” and “mundane” were not what the writer were going for when they made this game."

The only thing I could read competently was the part about terrorists in Tokyo and apparently metropolitan police. You don't need to look into it too hard. The story is your standard beat 'em plot about taking out some sort of terrorist, only this time with a samurai robot lmao.

What an interesting blend of brawler and shmup! Looks a touch bland, unfortunately, but worse it seems pretty slow. I'll give it a try and see if my eyes deceive me.

This only has high speed running samurai ninja robots with jet packs and over boards and futuristic boss fights in environments like several thousand feet in the air- why would American kids have enjoyed this too 🙄

In my humble opinion, this game looks like it's the result of somebody taking Strider, Robo Army, a tokusatsu show, Eastern mysticism, the cyberpunk subgenre, and a shmup and throwing it into a blender.
