I was lucky to find this game at a long closed game shop, whomever worked there tried to hide it well. I made a restroom trip while there, and since the bathroom was behind the counter, and the owner knew me, he let me go. On my way out, I was able to peruse the games that were behind the others showcased in the glass case, and one shined out at me, Mr. Do SNES. Thankfully the game was priced at $7.99, the owner figured one of his employees had put it out of the sight of buyers, so that person could buy it. Needless to say, whichever employee hid it, was quite disappointed when they went back in, it was in my possession, and to this day still is.

Excellent port of an arcade classic! You gotta love how spoiled some people are in the comments section. Yes, it’s one game on the SNES, and it was also expensive, but just because there are compilations of several arcade games on the system, doesn’t mean that all companies should follow suit. This game is from Universal Limited. They’re not Williams, Midway, Atari, or Namco. They don’t have an extensive lineup of hit games, like those other companies do. Most of their games released, were largely successful in Japan. Mr. Do! was their biggest hit outside of Japan. None of the sequels had the same impact as the first game. Universal chose to license the original game out to Imagineer, for release on the Super Famicom, and since the game was a hit internationally, THQ used their Black Pearl Software affiliate, in order to publish the game elsewhere. Honestly, if you’re whining about the price, or moaning about just one game on the cartridge, get over yourself. No one’s forcing you to buy this. Appreciate what you have. Seriously.

One would think that, with the power of the SNES, this game would have gotten the Super Mario All-Stars treatment with enhanced graphics and sound. Nope! It's just an arcade game from the early-80s ported to the SNES "as is."
