Seems like questionable engineering if your electrolytic capacitors are outlasting your ICs in many cases 😵. I'll definitely give a point to Sega over Nintendo in that regard.

@@PunkNDisorderlyGamer I'm definitly Nintendo's bitch and I love my SNESs, but Game Gear ICs do NOT die before their electrolytic caps. Anyway, SNES or GG, none of those machines were supposed to work 35 years after their release.

Mario Kart starts from its last save. If you last tested a board in 2P mode and picked koopa, it will default to that option. That's why it's starting like that. To "reset" it, beat the track with 1P as Mario. It's gotta have a time to record to save. Disclaimer, I'm not certain this always works or how its supposed to, but I know it always works for me.

iirc Super Mario Kart remembers your last menu option even after you turn off the game. And starting at 2P mode after playing 1P mode seems to be normal to my knowledge, since it also happened to me even on emulators

Also in mario kart to cancel a selection you press the X button to go back a menu. It could be different since I got a japanese cart but give that a try to see if it works on the american version as well

Where does the owner get all of these? That's a ton of boards!
@PunkNDisorderlyGamer4 ай бұрын
@@JDPeters538 it’s a game store, when someone comes in with a broken SNES, he offers a quick board replacement as a service. People usually accept it because it’s done the same day, and they leave with a working snes. It comes out much cheaper than buying a new snes, and as a bonus the owner gets a part board that might be repairable.

IMO if the graphics are corrupted it's a PPU issue and if there are no graphics it's a CPU issue
@tcscomment4 ай бұрын
also, for future you: PPU1 renders graphics (background layers, sprites) and applies transformations (scaling, rotation, etc) while PPU2 applies effects (such as window, mosaic, etc) on top of the graphics rendered by PPU1
