Snetterton Mini Challenge Cooper AM Race 20-10-19 R50

Mini Challenge Cooper AM race at Snetterton on 20/10/19 in Norfolk Mini's R50 Cooper race car. A wrong decision on tyres in quali put us in 8th place for the first race and got a fifth after lots of battling, but we were definitely faster than that. Reverse grid draw put us 2nd and a great start meant we were in the lead by the first corner. Thought it was all under control until the rain started showing up on the windscreen and gradually got harder. Nearly backed off a bit too much trying not to throw the car at the scenery, but managed to scrape a win. Very pleased with the win as you may have gathered - some quick guys in that class and some robust racing at times so that one felt especially sweet. Mainly rear footage as my driving is like watching paint dry and it was all going on behind! Thanks as always to Norfolk Cars for their help this year.

Are these minis modified n if so what’s the price to do one up full spec?

Lightly modified - remap and 1 way adjustable AST coilovers being the biggest changes and then obviously full cage and necessary safety bits. The series they're now in is on the BTCC calendar so they have a few other compulsory items for safety and to aid recovery, but should be able to do one to compete in that for under 10k. Good close racing with cars that are all pretty equal, as no room to mess about with the cars in the regs - all down to setup and driver skill, great fun and wish I was racing one this year!
