This his to be the best "sniper" themed movie. Along with the sequel. Better than American Sniper. In this movie we get to see what Berenger's "sight man" sees"...something most films neglect to let us see. Or let us see through the sniper's scope. Some camera angles are so important. A shame this movie isn't on 4k BluRay. The studios I guess don't think it's worth the money and effort to do the transfer to 4k BluRay. Something else...lots of civilians get into the "shooting sports" because of films they saw long ago. I wonder if Sniper swawned the "long range rifle" sport and industry for civilians. A chance for civilians to buy and trick out "sniper rifles" ...the real deal using rifle ammo....enjoy the thrill of being a sniper for an hour on Sunday. Without the pressure of worrying about being spotted or captgured and tortured/killed. The real life sniper on which American Sniper was based. He was killed on a gun range. Back home. An "accident". Ummmm....I say some bad people wanted payback. Why this sniper went on talk shows is beyond me. Even had a book written. Why not "disappear". Blend in with the rest of us. Work in a donut shop. :) Least likely place to find a sniper. Ex-sniper. Sure to have bad people looking for him.

Not just sniper but the only movie depicting modern war correctly. Even the soldiers are authentic. Even their mannerisms are authentic. Even though the story is totally fiction. And then you look at films like Private Ryan or Black Hawk Down who are based mostly on real events and they just look like some testosterone action flicks. The bullets wizeling allover the place without hitting anyone, engaging the enemy up close with no suppressive fire, up close fire fights that last longer than 30 minutes, the soldiers have the personality of a tumblr social justice warrior, etc. It's like watching the Matrix.

This is the only movie depicting modern warfare correctly. Most folks would say Black Hawk Down or Private Ryan just because they're based on real events. BHD and private Ryan are great action movies. There's actually not too much action in modern war and if a firefight happens up close, although that rarely happens, a scene shouldn't last longer than one minute.
