This episode should really be called NOT a sniper…at all. Point blank and sniper mean different things to me. They mean the opposite in popular culture but I guess I’ll have to do some research on this. Would it be asking too much to understand the definition of words used (especially in a title), rather than to just pick a gun-related term and use it for dramatic effect? I seriously doubt anyone involved, victim or investigator alike, would have described this series of shootings as "sniper attacks", as they were the complete opposite, perpetrated at point-blank range, with no concealment, and with a handgun. 33:25 This Shooter's MO is the opposite of everything that defines a "sniper". For those of you who may regard this as a "nit-picky" comment, think again. This show's premise focuses on finding & convicting the perpetrator. An established MO is extremely crucial in determining the personality and motive of any given shooter. Doing so in a competent manner can lead to the cessation of violence and can substantially reduce the number of victims, as well as help make for a clean conviction of the perpetrator. Glad the perpetrator was apprehended, but misuse of terminology doesn't help this show's credibility.
@johncamp7679

I seen another comment about this, yours was far more in-depth. You’re right, you wouldn’t report the crime as a sniper if it was point blank. That could make you a suspect.

The suspect's confession letter to his ex-wife admitting to shooting her & the killings of defenceless innocent victims should had been enough evidence to send the murderer to the death row, instead of letting him get away with life sentence. @Vulpax Politicians making laws to get re-elected for another term in the political office does NOT provide justice neither solace to the victims of criminal murderers neither the grieving families. Justice is NOT fashion show, sold for public consumption.
@BahreNeGash
@BahreNeGash 2 жыл бұрын
@Vulpax Seeking justice to the victims of criminal killers should NOT end up being public contest for politicians to take advantage off nor for the general public to stamp on it's moral barometer. Those who have no respect for the lives of helpless innocent people don't deserve to have mercy from the victims of their crimes, therefore should pay for their crimes with their lives. Society should NOT be obligated to protect the murderers who commit their crimes against innocent defenseless people. Ending the death penalty will only encourage the criminal murderers to continue with their crimes, knowing their lives would be spared by the criminal justice system. Committing multiple murders, this murderer is a living example of the failure of the justice system.

When her close friend was killed, and she had all this fear of her ex… why did she not immediately notify police that he could be a suspect? She even had a letter typed up. Why the hell didnt she speak up earlier, that could have saved the other victims.

Even then the police would have had no direct evidence of his involvement in that killing. Plus she would have been scared to report him to the police as that would surely put her life in jeopardy. At that point she would have thought keeping mum is the best way to be alive

Got to love the witnesses that point someone out and say that is who i saw and it is completely wrong..if these witnesses finger the wrong person they need to be charged for a crime their mistake cost someone else their time and potentially cost the person singled out to lose their job, home and anything else they may have had going for them and that is not ok..the poor person just gets an apology if there lucky and they dont care what it may have cost you and then they wonder why criminals keep committing crimes..if witnesses start getting charged for falsely identifying someone i guarantee they wont do it unless there is no doubt that it was in fact the person guilty of the crime..makes me wonder how many people are in prison because of being falsely identified by a witness i am sure it is more than i am thinking it is..

I understand ypur point ,but these witnesses are many times pressured by the police to pick one. Also ,they want to help. In this particular case,police should know it was dark outside and this lady couldnt see the guy well,especially it was a black guy and they all could look same,especially in the dark. But yeah,could have been a real problem if thr guy didnt have a good alibi because he really was a person of interest.

This series was produced in the early 90s to about 2000. It was a policy at that time to recap the progress of the show, and many like it, after each commercial break was aired during the show, which by that time was getting totally out of control. An hour time slot where a show was scheduled would see up to 20 minutes of commercials, and a minute or so for the intro and a minute for the credits and outtro, leaving about 38 minutes for the actual show. The recapping and review after each commercial break was not only unnecessary but also very annoying. It's as if the producers believed that no would remember what the show was about after 3 minutes of commercials. They seem to be saying "welcome back to the show, we know you can't remember anything beyond 60 seconds, so we'll tell where the show has progressed to and what it is about." I hated watching TV shows in the 80s and 90s, the advertising was becoming absolutely obnoxious and boring. The ads alone would destroy the show.
