Sniper Elite V2's Best Missions

I'm surprised to see that no one mentioned any of V2's DLC missions. While the base game levels are still great, whenever I come back to V2 I usually go for those instead, my favourite of which being the Landwehr Canal.

My choice would be the Landwehr Canal from the DLCs. Great sniping opportunities, cool positioning, and (with some effort and patience) you can do a fair amount of stealth to maximise killing points. Otherwise, it is the Museum for me. Also, I have to say it: V2 has remained one of those golden oldies I frequently come back to. Seems quite a bit grittier to me than the follow-ups, even though I consider the inclusion of the Soviets as opponents to the rhythm of American flag-waving particularly distasteful.

V2 was my first SE game and it’s atmosphere got me hooked on the series. I just wish the multiplayer was still active. There was a big group of us who played the hell out of that multiplayer for ages before it suddenly dropped off.

I've forgotten just how brilliant this game is! All the levels you listed are pure Sniper Elite. Designed for sniping with no real way of stealth, but to just battle it out using superior shooting. I am going to have to revisit this, which will mean repurchasing the game as I sold 2, 3 and 4 some years ago. Criminal, I know. 😬

It runs on the SEV2 engine, but Zombie Army Trilogy's Gateway to Hell is my favourite mission in chapter 2, being both Brandenburg Gate and the (almost) back end of Kaiser Freidrich Museum together, and makes for a smooth running mission that takes me back to what the area looked like prior to the zombie menace. A really nice piece I must say.

Brandenburg Gate is one of those sections that SE5's developers should look very closely, even if it's not a masterpiece in level design by any stretch, the atmosphere, the stakes, the difficulty that makes that section epic, where has it all gone??🤔🤔

Hello, if I have only played Sniper Elite 4 would it feel like a major step back if I picked up Sniper Elite V2 remastered? I am interested in the early cold war themes and the soviet presence. I don't mind the more focused map design, but would it feel noticeably dated by comparison?

It does feel dated, but I don't think it feels dated enough make it unenjoyable. I'd definitely pick it up, but unless you're a series fanatic, it's probably only worth getting at a discounted price because it is basically just campaign, there's not a lot else to do.
